Sending FBI Check to Korea for Visa Number Standard?

I received my contract, sent my diploma and transcripts already now going to send my FBI check to school to get visa. Is this standard?

It is required.

The school, as your sponsor, needs the apostilled FBI check, apostilled (photo)copy of your degree, signed contract, self medical and passport type photo to apply for your visa confirmation number from immigration in Korea.

They will send you the number about a week after they apply for it.

You will take that number, your passport, photo, assorted other documents to the consulate and get your actual visa put into your passport.

THEN you get your ticket and fly to Korea. (don't get your ticket before you get your visa - delays are common).
