Quote - I have two close friends who have worked at different SLPs, both of which had policies where teachers weren't allowed to converse about anything that wasn't work related while at work. My understanding is that it's standard across all branches.
That's interesting, did they develop their own code like drug dealers being phone tapped by the FBI? E.g 'fancy a pint later?' would be 'are you going to teach the present perfect later?' and 'did you watch the match last night?' could be 'did you read page 4 of the teacher's book?' etc.......
I just finished a year at an SLP branch, no problems at all. Medical, pension and severance were all provided. The company name makes very little difference, the owner of the hagwon makes all the difference in the world. Ask to talk to a teacher before you sign!!!!!!!
True! But SLP seem (for some strange reason) to have an higher proportion of complainers. And if this is your first year, you have very little to compare it to. So, op be careful, coming from a veteran I'd say keep running for the hills!!
Actually this is a long way from being my first year, and no problems simply means no problems. All I'm saying is be wary of all potential employers, SLP, Avalon, whoever. Do your research and make a good choice |
