So just got a job offer at YSS in Giheung-gu Yongin city.
I am trying to find information on Giheung-gu (specifically) in Yongin city.. and can't find anything really online or here (although I am a rookie and may not be navigating correctly).
Any info or a link to a thread would be amazing before i sign my contract!

go to daum.net and search for "기흥구"
by the looks of the sat photo, it is a newly built planned city straddling the National Road 1 and 42. Nice place to work and live. Not a place if you are looking get 'wasted'. I travel on National 42 often but never noticed the place.

I used to live in Giheung gu, i just moved up the road to a different "Gu" a bit closer to Bundang. It's a nice area. I used to live in Seoul, but you can find all the same services and things in this area. Lots of foreigners around, and plenty to do, parks, restaurants, bars, cafes, etc.

I just left there in July. It's a nice, quiet area, but you'll find yourself going to Bundang, Seoul, or perhaps Suwon an awful lot, probably. Gangnam University is one of the busiest areas I can think of around there, and that's not saying much.

Hey, Just found this post!

I live in Giheung-gu, Yongin-si.

I like it here a lot. It's close to Seoul and Suwon - but it's not as intense as living in a large city. There is a good group of foreigners I have found - there are a bit spread out, but just a 15 minute bus ride away.

There are some good places to hike around the area too.

If you end up moving here and spot this, feel free to contact me!

I can't private message you since you need over 25 posts. Silly.
