I'm always very guarded what I say when at the airport and on the airplane. Is there an official list of words/expressions that would prevent one from boarding their flight?
I know it would be stupid and I have read of people at the airport telling/yelling they have a bomb or they are going to blow something up. What if one is overheard saying the word "bomb" but it was in reference to something like taking a dump. Like telling their friend while walking to the bathroom, "I have to drop a bomb".

no such list exists. please say "i have to drop a bomb" constantly and repeatedly next time you go to the airport and report back to us.

Substitute your phrase with "I have to drop my adopted Indian kids off at the 'swimming pool'"

there is a warning sign at ninoy aquino international airport in manila phillippines that reads:

NOTICE ABOUT BOMB JOKES

the manila international airport authority gives formal notice that jokes about carrying bombs while in the airport and on board the aircraft will be treated seriously. anyone cracking such jokes will be denied carriage by the airlines and will be turned over to the pnp aviation security group for investigation.

thank you very much and may you all have a safe and enjoyable flight.

miaa management

so zack, while it's a great idea to walk around other airports talking about dropping bombs, manila will have none of it. you've been warned.

Read the first sentence of the OP.

....I don't say those kinds of things but I was offering a hypothetical.

I've seen signs, I think in a Canadian airport, that had a picture of a guy saying "Hi, Jack" and there was a "don't" strike through it. If you're greeting your friend Jack, you must say hello!

Also, don't tell your friend that her bag is the bomb.

Don't say things like "Man, the last inflight movie was a real bomb."

Or "This inspection lineup is an abomination."

Don't say that a woman has a big bum if your accent is British.

Don't even mention the president's name (i.e. Obama).

Cool Cool
