I interviewed at a famous Jung Chul in Centum City. The boss wanted me to work 30 hours a week, but when I pressed him to how many classes that was he didn't want to say and he started to punk me.
He kept saying 6 teaching hours a day is normal. Six teaching hours with 5 minute break each hour.

Finally he told me classes were 30 minutes long.

No way i'm teaching 12 classes a day.

Anybody worked at Jung Chul in Pohang? I have a phone interview and want to see if this location has a similar reputation as the other ones I've come across so far in my search. Thanks!

@ globusmonkey

no idea about that branch, but you should ask about the number of classes that you have to teach versus the hours that you teach, ie how long is a class. Jungchul schools sometimes split 50 minute classes into two 25 minute classes which means 5 hours of teaching can end up being 10 classes which is a lot of classes even though they are short. Also you will probably be the only foreign teacher.

It really depends on the individual hakwan.

My friend worked at a Jungchal in Seoul and was housed inthe smallest apt I have ever seen and had a hellish time at the job from what I garnered.

I worked at one last year and it was decent and I liked the job and hours better than my previous ps ele job.

I't s a lottery.

I know this thread is a bit old, (and I guess if no one replies since the thread is so old, I will just make a new topic).
But I am wondering about this particular branch. (Palyong-dong, Changwon). Any info about the working conditions, location, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

Better or worse usually gets reported back to the forum, so it is likely that nothing has changed. Unless updates to the contrary arrive shortly, the sound of crickets will be its own indicator.
