Anyone know where I could possibly obtain some Hallowe'en make-up?
I'm talking face-paints, liquid latex, etc..
A website or directions to a store would be most gratefully appreciated! |

why is there an apostrophe between the two e's? I'm just being pedantic, I'm just curious...us Brits don't really have the tradition, but I've never seen it spelt like this. |

Found online:
"Halloween is used in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. and
Hallowe'en is a variant also used in all three countries. The ratio
of Halloween to Hallowe'en use is about 11:1 in Canada, 1432:1 in the
U.S., and 39:1 in the U.K. Therefore, neither spelling is more
Canadian than the other.
As the eve of All Saints' Day, the original was All Hallow Even
(where Even meant evening). The contraction, Hallowe'en, uses an
apostrophe in place of the letter, v, just as with o'er/over, for
example. A further contraction removes the apostrophe to form
Halloween."
No idea on the make-up, though. Sorry! |

Party supply stores usually carry that sort of stuff (year round).
Some stationary stores also carry it (look for your local Alpha stationary store).
One I know for sure is in Suwon (on the south side of the road midway between Namun and St. Vincent hospital).
I haven't looked for any in Seoul but I suspect you should be able to find something in Namdaemun or Itaewan if you want more than just face paints.
Last year I got our Halloween stuff at Home Plus in Yeongtong and Lotte-mart in Seohyun.

In Namdaemun Market, there is a small party, costume, and make up shop. It is not inside a large building, so look for it on the street/alley. |

Yes. Come to think of it, walking down from city hall, turn left at the gate (where the camera shops are) and it is on the street on the same side as the market and before you get to the Bank Of Korea building.

I'm one of "us Brits"!
I've always loved Hallowe'en, and have always used the spelling with an apostrophe! |

There is a place I have been going to every year to pick up Halloween/Christmas stuff.
If you live in Seoul, then it is outside of Jongro 5 ga station, exit 7. Walk straight for a minute or two and you will see a Woori Bank on your right. Immediately around the corner there is a toy store on the right. They usually have all kinds of Halloween costumes/masks/decorations. They probably have face paint as well.

There is a store in Seoul called "Halloween". You can guess what they sell there. Go to Sadang station, exit 14. Walk straight out of the exit until you come to a hospital (it's a 5 minute walk). Turn left at the hospital, and turn right maybe one or two streets after the hospital. The streets are super small alley-type streets. The store will be on your right, in a basement. The sign is in English, but it's kinda small, so be on the lookout for it.
If you search for "Halloween Store Seoul", there's a flickr picture with a google earth picture and perfect directions. |
