The address looks legit, but as to whether or not he actually lives there is a different matter...the biggest alarm bells here come from the 3k wages, thats totally out of whack for any job that also provides bills and accommodation in the UK.

I'm happy to be your man on the ground if you need any phone calls making or anything like that, but i'd go with the popular opinion that this guys a scammer.

I will be totally with you jingo as you scope out Hill Top Ave tonight. If the job is real (there is actually a Chinese doctor and his family visible in the window) I will gladly give you a reference and the job is yours. Max.P from The Clipperton Suite!

What is expected of me in this situation?

I have zero teaching experience.
I will have to live inside their house.
This house is located in Manchester, England.
A rich doctor wants his family to know English, they just moved.
It will be super awkward.

Is this worth doing? I will make 3 times more money doing this for a year. Never been to England...

Is this the way to go?

It's a flat out scam, end of sentence, end of story. I and everybody else here gets those emails, from where who knows? I'm surprised you don't realize that.

I, and a few friends, have all been offered that same job. It's a scam. Surely they would have found someone by now. Be safe.

That was what I thought too when they offered it to me a year ago.

My guess is that they get you to send money under some pretense then disappear.
Or maybe they pick you up at the airport and then you wake up the next morning minus a kidney.

Or, if you're female, you wake up from being drugged, now a sex slave in a different country.

Again, be safe.

OP, I work for an organisation that has been dealing with this type of situation for many years now. It is a serious issue and many people have lost thousands of dollars. Luckily, I am in Korea now - so if you would please pm me your bank account number and passbook information we will be happy to work on your behalf to put these villians behind bars, where they belong!

I had one of these sent to me a few years ago, one of many anyway.

This one was "supposedly" based in Amsterdam and as luck would have it, I was flying into Amsterdam in 2 weeks time. So I replied back and they said they needed me to send half of the flight ticket, which would be reimbursed (cough), to secure the job.

I told them, I already have a ticket to Amsterdam and that I'll be there in two weeks anyway so what's the address and we can meet in person to discuss things further. I did get a phone number out of them and called. They asked me again to send them money but I told them I'd bring it in person.

Needless to say nothing was discussed further and that was the last I heard from them.

I couldn't help myself and had to reply seeing as I was going there anyway. I knew it was a scam from the very beginning but just had to see what their reaction would be.

Of course it's a scam. Nigerian in origin would be my guess. That's where a lot of these scams start.

If it seems to be too good to be true, then it probably isn't as good as it sounds. It generally never is.

Be distrustful of these random "offers" that may end up in your inbox. In the same way that you would ignore the spam to enhance your sex life nonsense you might find there as well. Spam filters are there for a reason.
