I recently got an offer to interview for a position in Songdo. It seems like an interesting area but it also seems a bit off the beaten path.

Has anyone ever been to Songdo? Is there any night life scene there or is it close enough to central incheon so I could go out if I wanted to?

Any good or bad experiences?

Songdo is a ghost town. The coolest thing about it is the abandoned Bible Park they built in Central Park.

I live in Song Do and it's cool. I have worked in the area for a couple of years, and have lived here for about 6 mos. But have been coming here to visit and hang out for well over three.
No traffic, no crowds and clean. Lots of parks and restaurants, foreign and domestic. It is slowly becoming a real good place to live. It is expensive compared to other areas, and it is off the to the side of Incheon, but there is a subway here and lots of buses.
I drove into Seoul last week-end and it was horrible for me: traffic was nuts, crowds and pollution, etc. I couldn't wait to get back to Song Do, and my Korean wife felt the same.

I went to visit it one day. It really is a ghost town now, but there are big plans for the future. Empty roads, few pedestrians, didn't see any buses (but other post says they are there.
Make sure there is an E-mart, Homeplus, or Lotte mart there before you go. If none of those stores are nearby, you'll be doing a lot of travel back and forth to one.
If you are talking about a job at Chadwick, take it of course. I hear great things about their facilities.

Absolutely nothing to see or do there.

I'm not going to work there.

I just want to see the abandoned bible park, but I don't want to waste my time going out that way if its not there anymore.

No Buses? Where in Songdo did you go? Smile There are plenty and they go to other parts of Incheon (of course) but also upto Seoul (Hongdae / Gangnam etc).
I'm not going to say it's an amazing buzzing city, but there are a number of nice parts to it. Central Park and NC Cube are nice to visit and there are a few new bars recently opened up.
Is it Seoul? No. But it's nicer than much of the rest of Incheon.

Those 3 year old posts are no longer relevant. I visit a friend in Songdo from time to time and that place is filling up with people. New apartments going up everywhere. Its a new city near old Incheon and a 20 min ride across a bridge to the airport. There is a new Lotte Mart there, lots of hiking and biking trails. A Homeplus is planned for the place, a Lotte Mall with a CGV is already under construction. New restaurants, bars, coffee shops and so forth opening up every day.

The bible park is gone. The U.N. GCF is there. They brought in lots of foreigners with them. Lots of foreign engineers there too. You would not believe how that place has changed over just a few years.
