A quick question for you guys who are using Gmarket to buy stuff (whether you use korean version of the website or the english version)
Do you guys have to pay the 2,500won every time you order? Is that the charge for shipping? And does everyone pay that, even the koreans?
Not complaining but was wondering if everyone had to pay that fee (for shipping, even domestic) |

Yes, the fee is for shipping and handling and everyone pays it. Also, you'll usually get your product within 2 business days. And if they are late they usually will call and throw in some coupons or some extra items in there. |

It depends on the product. Usually for cheaper items, say under 50,000won there will be the 2500 delivery charge. On more expensive items, quite often shipping is free. |

it very much depends on the item in question, but yes 2500 is basically the standard, though I have seen items with higher delivery charges. It's also important to note that sometimes the fee is per order and other times it's per item in the order.
I've made a total of 12 individual orders on Gmarket and I've only had a delivery charge 5 times, one of which I had a coupon for free delivery. Actually it's kind of odd I received a couple free delivery coupons and I have no idea where they came from, unfortunately I've had a hard time being able to use them because of the attached conditions. Hopefully I have a use for it before it expires... |

I understand what you're talking about. I managed to order a table, but I did ask my friend's girlfriend to help me out, so I could read the options. Once that was taken care of, I could order my table; I did. The English site needs to spell out the options somehow in English. Perhaps, they could learn from Canadians who have bilingual websites. I am glad it's mostly English now, but it still needs some work. Or, we need to learn enough Korean to read the options. |
