Does anyone know if it can be bought for PC in box form? Preferably the English version? Thanks.

It is not available yet. But you can download the beta from EA. Actually they are marketing it using a company called Origin.

I've played it a few times. Wild graphics, but the interface is hard to understand and there is no manual or tutorial.

I was going to go the download route but it's not available in English. Origin is only available in the local language of the country your IP address is in and they're really good at detecting proxies.

I contacted support and they said they have no plans to make it available in English, so the only option is to buy the box as the box does have an option to choose the installation language.

It's very strange that they won't let you choose your language. I Google'd this and lots of people seem pissed.

I don't get it. I had no problems downloading it in English. I just tried to find you the link, but the beta is now closed. If we buy the disks, then hopefully we can select the language. You could on BF2.

Yeah, I think it must have changed. I know it's a big issue that you can't choose the language with Origin--it just defaults to your locale. Apparently all of Belgium defaults to French despite three languages being spoken in Belgium and Puerto Rico defaults to Spanish.

With blatant oversights like these, it's a wonder why EA thinks they can overtake Steam. I'm just going to buy the box.

How about console version (ps3)? Can you change language to English?

myself and a student pre-ordered through ea.com and yes u need a korean to help u. once in the game though its all english (at least the beta was) and theres no difficulty understanding origin. basically games are displayed as icons so just click and launch. the beta was very uninspiring and not that fun. lots of complaints on the forums. metro was terrible and glitched to hell. i seriously doubt the bugs will be ironed out with 8 or so days to release.

caspian border played alot better. beautiful graphics and fun vehicles. much more like classic battlefield style. but in some ways ive moved closer towards the faster paced bad company 2 style and abit away from the ultra realistic 1 shot and your dead style which i found frustrating to say the least. some of the action ive experienced in bc2 dice will have a tough time replicating that from the maps ive witnessed so far. anyway fingers crossed better maps will be produced.

metro rush 5/10
caspian border conquest 7/10

I liked BF2 but have always gravitated more towards realistic shooters (I'm a huge Arma2 nut). I wanted to get BF3 mainly because people won't shut up about it and it looked semi-realistic in the previews. After hearing people compare it to BC2 though, I'm not so sure anymore.

I hate Bad Company 2 with a passion. I find it way too arcade-like and annoying. I don't like games where you spawn shooting and die shooting. I like slower-paced games where patience pays off and I thought BF3 would be more slow paced than BC2 while retaining all the fun of BF2.

If it could be modded I would definitely buy it. Someone would release a realism mod and I'd be happy (like I was with PR: BF2). The fact that it can't be modded is the main reason why I'm not sure if I'm going to buy it. If I don't like it as is, then it's a waste of money.

Did anyone else order the game yet? It's showing up so much cheaper than it is back home. Is it the same version or are there region restrictions if I were to buy it from the Korean EA website?

I'm sceptical of that. I'm probably going to pick up the box, just to be safe.

It might be some weird, neutered, Korean PC Bang version or something...

I bought it yesterday from Origin. It's the full version with no region restrictions and is completely in English. The server browser is pretty robust too, you can search by region and sort by ping. There are a ton of Asian servers and seems to be a lot of English speakers playing on them.

I used the korean site. I logged in with my (foreign) EA account and used my Korean debit card. It was pretty straightforward, they don't ask for a Korean ID / registration number unlike most sites so as long as you can read basic Korean it's plain sailing.

It's frustrating that the EA store defaults to Korean and there's no way to change the store language, but once you get past that both the game and Origin are in English.

I tried but eventually gave up. I want to pay via bank transfer, so I go through the menus and download the ActiveX plug-in, then I put in my information and finally get to this menu where I can select my cell phone/USB and so forth.

I put in the information and then it wants me to select a certificate on my hard drive. Problem is, there are no certificates. I had it message something to my phone and it said something about a data transfer but I just gave up because I think it's one of those things I have to go into the bank to set up.

I'll just buy the damn box Razz

I bought the box in Yongsan today. Most places were sold out, including the games tunnel, but if you keep checking around you will find a copy!

Even if you buy the Korean box it has an option to install in English (both the game and Origin).
