So I was watching the protests in Greece on TV, and it sure seems that their government doesn't benefit them. In fact it seems the government is a gangster robbing it's people, and is to be feared.

Is it a representative government? Does it represent it's people's will?

Then I saw the Euro leaders meeting. They all got out of BMWs and Audi's and went inside some posh building. It looked like the royals arriving.

Things seem backward. That government is working for the benefit of government and using its citizens.

What do you think?

Their people don't pay taxes, so I don't really see what they're being robbed of.

I think it is right to blame the Greek government for all it has done wrong, but I don't really have any problems with Angela Merkel driving a BMW. Should she have chosen an Opel instead?

People self-employed have been the big tax evaders. Regular office workers on a regular salary and gov't employees have traditionally paid the bulk of taxes. As usual, the big business owners have gotten off not paying. Same as anywhere, just in Greece it's much more visible.
It's easy to point to Greece as a 'do nothing' nation rather than look at the structural problems of the 'free market economic system'. It's just that the Greeks need little to go to the streets when they think others have wronged them. And they have...Yes, I am talking about Goldman Sachs, et al....Only now is the rest of the world waking up to what Greeks have known all along-- The few benefit, the many pay....
