Last week a friend and I had our fingerprints taken at a police station. We couldn't find a form provided by the RCMP so we just used the forms at the police station. Now, obviously, that form is in Korean. My friend and I are wondering if that will cause any problems when we send them to Canada. We are worried that the RCMP might reject the forms because they are not in English. Has anyone used the Korean form for fingerprints? If so were they accepted? |

RCMP said that it needs to have some English on it. I don't know if handwritten translations would count as OK. Why not call or email the RCMP?

I had mine done on the American FBI form and just crossed out some fields to add info that they requested be on it. |

my friend and i were thinking about going back and having them done on the FBI form, but we could save ourselves a trip if they accept the korean ones. |

Curious why you need these?
You can get nationwide RCMP checks from local RCMP detachments without fingerprints, provided that nobody with your same name/birthday has a record.
Did something change since Spring 2011? |

Don't you need to be in Canada to go to the local RCMP station to get the check done? |

If you phone the Canadian embassy in Seoul & ask for form C216-C (RCMP fingerprint form), they'll mail it to you. I got it the next day. |

Just got an e-mail from my pa, who went to check for me today. You have to go in person to get a CRC unless you go through the 4-month ordering with fingerprints. And this is from a small town detachment where I got my original check in less than 10 minutes, with a pretty perfunctory glance at my ID as my family has lived there for 30 years and they new exactly who I was....
