Dude, chicken franchises tend to do well in Korea. Look at KFC, which has been here for more than 20 years or so. The only chicken franchises that failed that I can think of are Kenny Rogers' Roasters and Boston Market, but I think they were a bit too expensive for sets.

Oh if they'd only match the $0.99 two piece Tuesdays that is offered in the U.S., they'd be the #1 restaurant in Korea. I always see a line going out the door on those days.

There are only two branches in your province - one in Yeosu, the other one in Mokpo.
Yeosu branch is some 330 meters southwest of Yeosu Bus Terminal, see:

I wonder why Church's Fried Chicken hasn't given Korea a stab.

Funny I should come across this post. I heard a few weeks ago that
Mom's Touch (멈스터치) and Popeye's are one and the same. Not sure if it's true or not, but the chicken burgers & cajun fries at
Mom's Touch are pretty good (I'd stay away from the bulgogi burgers though). Anyway, if you are interested, you can check out their locations in Korea at

Probably because Popeye's and Church's are owned by the same company..they don't want them cannibalizing profits? As you can see the only two countries which have both chains are Canada and the States.

Quote:
FC ESTABLISHES HEADQUARTERS IN ATLANTA FOR POPEYES, CHURCH'S
ATLANTA, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- America's Favorite Chicken Co. Inc. (AFC), newly named parent company of the Popeyes Famous Fried Chicken & Biscuits and Church's Fried Chicken chains, announced today that the company's corporate headquarters will be based in Atlanta.
"AFC will not be a headquarters-based, 'ivory tower' company where decisions are made in one location and dictated to all of the others," said Frank J. Belatti, newly named chairman and chief executive officer of AFC. "We plan to be a field-based company with a significant presence in New Orleans, San Antonio and five other cities throughout the country. Our goal is to stabilize this company with little disruption to our employees, franchisees and customers."
According to Belatti, AFC plans to move only a minimum number of employees to Atlanta.
"We're excited to become part of the Atlanta community and look forward to making significant contributions to this city, as well as all the communities where Church's and Popeyes have restaurants," Belatti added.
Started in 1972, Popeyes Famous Fried Chicken & Biscuits is the third-largest fried chicken chain, with 817 restaurants, 694 of which are franchised. In addition to the United States, Popeyes has operations in Canada, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Honduras, Guam, Korea, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan and the Philippines. Popeyes' 1991 sales were $550 million.
Church's Fried Chicken is a 1,087-unit fast-food chain specializing in southern-style chicken. Currently, the chain has 621 company-owned restaurants and 466 franchises. Church's has restaurants in 30 states, as well as Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore. Church's 1991 system sales exceeded $513 million.
