Youtube video quality on low rez mode with my Galaxy S is far worse than before Gingerbread. Even when bandwidth is not an issue. It is nearly unusable. Anyone else notice this? Wonder if SK or Samsung does this to help bandwidth issues, or just because they hate YT in Korea?[/u]

I think you've just been watching a few bad-quality videos........

.........for KT, SK or whichever ISP to have any effect on the video quality of streaming video would be impossible. They can only effect whether the video comes down the pipeline or not. If the data speed is slow, then the video will buffer.......but it certainly won't revert to a lower resolution!!

Then maybe Samsung did it. The way the good old boy network works in this country, I would believe collusion to do anything.

And no. I have been watching videos of decent quality.

If you have chosen the 240p, 360p, 480p, 720p or 1080p resolution settings on the Youtube page then that it what you'll get on your phone display as long as the download data flow is working.

Neither your ISP or phone can mess with that. Your phone can only play what is given to it.

Yes. It is starting to SUCK.

My theory is that they are way overloaded, and/or they are dumbing-down 3G to make the new 4G seem so much faster/better (when in reality, they will be throttling 3G more).

They're really going to try to push people to the more expensive products.
