I have the standard 50/50 health insurance hogwan agreement over here. My question is if I go to a hospital or see a doctor and use my health insurance, will my employers know that I did so, or can they find out? I have a health problem, and no it's not an std, but it's something I'd prefer to keep from my employer. I don't want to see a doctor and then have someone come asking me why. |

Did you get a small paper insurance booklet? That is the health insurance. The school pays 50% of the premiums and you pay 50%, through a payroll decution.
Give the health insurance booklet to the secretary at the doctor's office/hospital. The only way your school will find out is if you tell the doctor. He has no business knowing that info. Then pay the co-pay on the way out. Simple.
Use the health insurance, you pay for it. It's a good benefit to have. |

IF you have the NHIC insurance booklet then your employer won't know unless you tell them. Just go to the doctor of choice, show your booklet, get treatment and pay your co-pay on the way out. 50/50 means they pay 1/2 of your premium and you pay the other 1/2. You are responsible for the co-pay and prescriptions.
If it is a typical hagwan (no NHIC or NHIC booklet), you go to the doctor, pay the bill and the doctor's office and at the pharmacy and give the receipts to your boss. Then he pays 1/2 of the bill. He will know who you saw, what you got for meds and may (will) ask why you needed to see the doctor.
