In your case you have an E2 and I assume your ARC reflects this time period. It's a matter between your school and you, more than with immigration.

As long as you don't turn in your ARC card when you leave, you'll be fine.. Immigration doesn't care what you do while under the employ of your employer

My school has given me some more time off than expected. I'll have 5 weeks. I initially figured leaving the country for longer than a month would not matter on an E-2. I intend to come back and finish the remainder of my contract.

Is there any restrictions here?

Thanks in advance!

You are free to go and return for as long as your ARC remains valid (1 day to 12 months in the case of an E2).
