First off apologies for making this thread, I know there are FAQ's, websites, other post etc but I just wanted to go through everything in my head out loud here to make sure I havent missed anything obvious.

I am pessimistic enough to be convinced that something is going to go wrong at some point in the process.

So I now have the following:

University Document- notarised and apostilled with two photocopies of the apostille and the apolstilled copy.

Criminal Records check notorised and apostilled (will make two photocopis on Monday.)

Sealed transcripts - 3 copies

Contract from the school - signed and dated.

E2 Visa application form - will fill in tonight/tomorrow

ph0tocopy of passport page is attached to apostilled doucments - do I need a seperate photocopy also?

Resume - to be printed out tomorrow.


I think all I am missing now is the health check form that I will be emailed on MOnday. When I receive that I plan to send all the apostilled documents and the rst of the above to the School and retain the photocopies and sealed transcripts in the UK for the Visa application.

Have I missed anything, and is it feasible to hope to have gotten the Visa by December 17th? (If I send the documents to Korea at Fed Ex's fastest setting.)


Sorry for rambling, asking questions that have been asked 400 times before and for probably not being clear. But Like I said I am in my paranoid stage of expecting something to go wrong.

Timing is tight for the 17th...

but yes, you seem to be on the track.

next steps:
-send documents to Korea (2-5 working days).
-wait for the visa confirmation number (4-15 working days)
-get the number and head for the consulate in your country
-apply for the actual visa (1-5 working days)
-book your flight AFTER you get your visa (or you may very well be back here posting, "Help, airplane booked and visa not ready, what can I do!")
-fly to Korea
-start work
-get a medical
-get your ARC

If you send the documents tomorrow (ie Monday) using fed-ex (or similar) it should take around 4days in my experience of both sending and receiving packages between the UK and Korea.
Then if your school takes your documents to the immigration center straight away even on fast track it will be a at less 10days more likely 2 weeks. Which would be around Friday 16th Dec.
It then takes around 5working days for the Korean embassy in London to process a new visa, which gives you a date around the 23rd. Therefore you could arrive before Christmas.
In my experience its better to the pessimistic when dealing with visa time frames.
