As far as I understand, there are 2 6-digit numbers selected every week. If your number is exactly the same, you get five million won per month for twenty years. Fine. But the next prize (one hundred million won) is given to the people holding the tickets with +/- the last digit of first prize.
Example:
First prize - 145636 and 683647
Second prize - 145635, 145637, 683646, and 683478
I know that the tickets are sold in different groups (조) and have different colors, and when you buy your ticket, you can select any group. However, the numbers run consecutively. So, let's say that I bought 3 tickets from
group 3 (3조) and the numbers were 145635, 145636, and 145637. In the case of the example above, I would have won First prize AND two Second prizes.
Am I missing something here, or is that correct? It seems like an odd way to give out the top prizes. Or is it just me? |

The bonus is if you win you're face is blurred out. Unlike other countries like ahem... Canada.
Anyways are foreigner eligible for these wins? I know the regular lottery everyone is eligible, but considering this is paid out over 20 years, I'm curious. |
