You talk like being an illegitimate mixed-race child in Korea could be a bad thing.

Seriously, if you're not familiar with the concept of "being able to sustain life outside the womb", you're obviously uninformed on the subject. Read up and get back to me when you understand the basic concepts being discussed.

Also, check out this definition:

Do you eat beef? Why? You're killing humans in the process. Or are you going to be a hypocrite and claim that cows are non human?

You think you too smart to believe such a lie? Germany was one of the most brilliant liberal cultures in the world that produced great writings, poetry, philosophy, theology and was made into an instrument for the massive annihilation of the Jewish people.

Don't be fooled, the same thing is happening today.

You're right. Those of us who are pro-choice want to annihilate babies. All of them. Permanently.

I do love marching and uniforms, always wanted to invade Poland and quite fond of the word "blitzkreig". Nazi, I must be! Nein!

You sure are the poster boy for Godwin's Law or is that basket case? The Nazi in me gets those mixed up when I'm not out persecuting gays in between my breaks of exterminating kittens. I guess it's hard to be wrong when your this "reich"! Oooh, behave, you grammar nazis!

It would be ridiculous to let other people's personal religious beliefs sway your own decision which will not affect them in the slightest
but will probably be the biggest decision of your life, depending which way you go

Perhaps the OP needed to post this so people would be aware that he had had sex. Congrats!! Now learn how to be an adult. No unprotected sex unless you are prepared for the consequences.

Let me try to make this as simple as possible for you.

Things that are not alive:
Door knob
Soap
Rock
Calculator
Get the idea?

This web site you quoted is ridiculous
http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/When_does_life_begin%3F
Quote:
Here the start of life is defined as when the fetus can sustain itself outside the mother's womb.

The baby is alive from day 1, it's not until it is aborted that it is dead. It has absolutely nothing to do with sustainability. This idea that life begins when a baby can supported itself on it's own has no scientific merit at all whatsoever. It is nothing more than a made up idea to perpetuate the lie that the baby isn't alive.

Not sure what so difficult to understand about this.

When people define other humans as non-human. It allows them to ease their conscience and perform all types of evils.

- People call the baby inside them a non life form, not a human, just a blob, to justify the killing of a baby in their womb.

- In the 1700's people believed Africans were non humans, and equated them with animals, which allowed them to justify slavery.

- The Nazis justified the killing of the Jewish people by making themselves believe they weren't human.

It's so much easier to say I got rid of a mass of tissue inside me that isn't even alive, than it is to say I didn't want this baby so I killed it. Which is what your doing.

The mass of tissue is alive, but I would argue that it isn't sentient, which is why I have no problem with abortions performed early in a pregnancy.

I stumbled across this today and thought it might be relevant to this discussion:

Quote:
3. Brain, spinal cord, and heart begin to develop.
4-5. Brain develops into five areas. Cranial nerves visible. Eye and ear structures begin to form.
6. Nerve terminals and fibers are present deep in skin.
7. All essential organs have begun to form.
8. Nerve fibers grow into spinal cord. Signals from tissue stimulation reach spinal cord.
9-12. Fetus can make a fist. Face is well-formed. Liver produces red blood cells.
12. Connections from thalamus to cortex develop.
13. Internal organs develop nerve terminals that can detect surgical tissue damage.
13-16. Fetus begins to make active movements and sucking motions.
14. Eyes begin to face forward and slowly move. Ultrasound detects coordinated movements.
16. Brain responses to low-frequency noise can be recorded.
18. Fetus withdraws from a needle. It launches a midbrain-generated stress response to needle punctures. This confirms that signals about tissue damage are reaching the midbrain.
19. Withdrawal reflexes and other nociceptive reactions can be recorded.
20. Increase in cortisol, beta-endorphin, noradrenaline when a needle invades the abdomen.
21. Rapid eye movements begin.
22-23. Fetus shows habituation to stimuli, reacts to first occurrence but not multiple repetitions.
23. Startle reflex develops. Some fetuses respond to familiar sounds, such as mothers voice, with movement.
24. Cortex begins to process sensory input, including tissue damage. Air sacs form in lungs.
25-28. Accelerated brain construction. Respiratory development makes gas exchange possible.
26. Auditory cortex begins to respond to sound. Coordinated behavioral responses include facial expressions. Some motions look like scratching, smiling, crying, sucking.
28. Visually evoked responses and spontaneous brain activity of cortical origin are recorded.
29. Clear behavioral responses to smell can be recorded in infants born at this age.
29-30. Pathways mediating pain perception become functional.
30. Fetus practices breathing.
33. fMRI shows cortical activation in response to sound.
34. Accelerated brain development. EEG rhythm of the two hemispheres is synchronized.
35. Organs are ready to function on their own.

Personally, I'm tired of murderous menstrual cycles. All those unfertilized eggs are potential lives thrown away by murderous uteruses.. appalling, I say!

Defiantly a good article, however I would still argue that it makes absolutely no difference whether the child is able to feel the abortion, or be conscious of its happening.

If you poison someone, and they never know it. They simply fall asleep and never wake up. It's still murder whether they knew it was happening or not.

Didn't the OP say they had protected sex? Condoms and birth control aren't 100% effective.

Pretty sure you're just trolling, but...

My appendix is alive.
A cow is alive.

Please justify an appendectomy.
Please justify eating beef.

Your inability to differentiate between killing a person and an animal will not be responded to.

An appendix is human.
A cow is human.

Show otherwise.

While you're at it, provide a scientifically accepted definition of "alive".

Fail. You said a person is person when "it can sustain itself outside the womb" and you got served. This response is laughably inept. If you want to modify your response to " a person is a person when it can be sustained outside the womb," well, we'll see where that leads to.

As a pastor, I also take the view that life begins at the first breath. http://www.askelm.com/doctrine/d050201.htm marks some good reasons for this stance.
