I am looking for some authentic Turkish delight. Does anyone know if the real stuff can be found? perhaps one of the middle eastern bakers in Itaewon?or department stores in town?
I am looking for the nut kind but candy will be fine too.
if anyone knows if it's on sale somewhere I would really appreciate the location. thank you.
I recently visited the new Turkish restaurant(OLD PANCHOS) and after the meal when I went to pay they had some at the counter , GOD IS WAS GOOD! reminds me of when I was in Turkey.
by the way the Restaurant was good too, all Turkish staff good prices, and tasty food.
the coffee was sooooo goooodddd. |

Sometimes Homeplus has the chocolate-covered stuff. It's Tesco's own brand.
Also, in Itaewon, one of the kebab places on the main strip (not Ankara picnic, but the one with seating closer towards the foreign food market) sells boxes of the stuff. |

There is a very good Turkish bakery that sells all kinds of delights in Itaewon.
From Ext 3 walk straight. Turn right after Dunkin Donuts. It's within 50 meters from the corner on your right opposite King Club.
The Turkish Delight is very good. |

I think you're talking about the new Pasha.
Pasha in Gangnam also sells it. We just bought some and it was fresh. But very expensive of course, since it's imported. |

I'm pretty sure it was Tesco's own brand, but I may be wrong. How was it? |

NYC Gal, I wasn't disputing the Tesco's brand at Homeplus...just saying I think the new Turkish kebab place in Itaewon is called Pasha. They have a large restaurant in Gangnam and recently opened a smaller kebab place in Itaewon. I haven't tried the one in Itaewon yet, but the Gangnam restaurant is excellent, owned and operated by a Turkish family.
Fosterman, it was about 5000 won for a tiny box of 125 grams. When I say it's fresh, I mean it's not an old box sitting around for a long time on the store shelf, chewy and dry. It's soft and good quality, tastes fresh. But very small. |

That bratty brother Edwin in 'The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe' sold out the poor kindly fawn for Turkish Delight.
I say ban the stuff, it's as bad as crack!

Ah, my mistake. I've seen Pasha, but usually just to Petra's, or get a veggie kebab at Ankara picnic. Thanks for the clarification! I'll check out Pasha. |

The Tesco brand one is terrible.
Bought one block, had three pieces to be sure and threw the rest in the rubbish. Horrible!!! |

Turkish Delight is real? I always thought it was just a made up snack from the Chronicles of Narnia books |
