Just wondering.
Bought an Optimus One in Korea with the hopes that I could use it back in Canada. One can use phones that use GSM (Rogers) as well as CDMA (Telus, Bell), but I was under the impression that there are newer standards these days...
so...what's the deal? Other than those with the iphone, is there anyone out there who's successfully used a smartphone from korea back in North America?
thanks! |

Phones from SK Telecom and KT (Olleh) can pretty much be universally used as long as they are unlocked first.
Phones from LG Telecom (U+) can't. |

So does that mean that an SK or KT Galaxy S2 will work in north america?
Why only those companies?
Do any companies in Korea use SIM cards? |

i had no problems using my galaxy s 1 in the US last winter last year. SK told me that the galaxy s comes unlocked so there wasn't anything else for me to do but pop in a sim card and add the new network. |
