i think it's a pretty useful app. considering it's free and i can text anyone in the world who's also using it.

although it's not perfect, the more people use it, the more "Plus friends" Kakao will get, and the more revenue they will get from ads, the better it will be (hopefully)

Viber's another good--but uncommon--app for texting/calling internationally. Way more intuitive and friendly than Skype.

Generally it's pretty good, but I find around midnight it seems to get a little slow most nights.

it's been fine for me, and they just announced a recent patch update to fix the speeds (for iPhones). they said Apple was on holiday though, so it's been delayed for approval (but it's on the way)

If you have wifi switched on and leave the range of the hub, katok will disconnect from the server temporarily when your phone is inactive. It might actually fail to reconnect later because of wifi issues. The best bet is to turn off Wifi when your outside and leave 3G running - and remember, you have to restart the app for it to reconnect using the 3G. With Katok connected via 3G, it should continue to update periodically.
