|
|
Anyone have experience buying TV's on Gmarket. I know the sellers vary wildly, but am curious about tv's that claim to be LG, but are sold under other local names. Does this mean LG makes the actual screen and nothing else?
I'm thinking of buying a 42 inch flatscreen. Himart would be about 900,000 for a new LG/Samsung
but if go with gmarket, I can get one for about 600,000. Although it's not LG, but apparently made by LG... has a year AS and is well rated by buyers. |

The actual screen is made by LG. Kinda like Vizio, Sony, Dell, etc... Those companies do not make their own panels, but by them some Samsung, LG, etc...
You can buy the cheaper off brand TV, but generally LG and Samsung TV's have a good resale value, in case you wanted to upgrade a year or 2 later. |

I bought a TDS 42" plasma tv three or four years ago with an LG panel from Gmarket. I've had no problems with it and I got it for quite a bit less than the name brand went for at the time. I think LG just makes the panel and then the 3rd party company assembles it. |

I have an electronics repair store, and can confirm that the panels are actually Samsung and LG, the casing and the AD Board is made by other companies. Warranties are usually half the period that LG and Samsung provide.
I built my own 42" LED 1080p FullHD tv for about 650k. So yeah, go for it. |

Thanks for your informative replies. Think I'll take my chances with GMarket and save a few hundred thousand won. |
