Since all the Corporate slogans seem to be in English these days, it's easy to pick on them. Usually the slogans are no more English than Konglish and on occasion, they don't even make sense. Two 'gems' I've found recently:

At a department store (Emart) in Seoul, I saw a bunch of slogans that went:
"You like malling? I like malling! Let's malling!"

In the movie theatre, the Galaxy Note's advertisement went:
"Phone? Tablet? It's Note!"

Then their are hundreds more that I don't want to think about ("Soul of Asia" and "Sparkling" come to mind). The strange thing is that the native speaker they get to read these slogans for TV just seems to go along with it.

Which bad, non-sensical, silly sounding Corporate slogans have you seen lately?

The first time I came to Korea after the appearance of Olleh, I was immensly confused.

Kept wondering why the heck a Korean phone chain was called Allah!

Richard Kim does a lot of them. And apparently makes solid bank. Would you complain about the Konglish if they were paying you well to say a couple of lines of gibberish?

Outside the Busan Immigration office:

"Beautiful Busan Wonderful Immigration"

another one

"World Best(insert name of company or product)"

eg
World Best Hemorroid Plugs

World Best Sinus Tubes

World Best Chemical Toilets

You get the idea.

Actually, that's almost clever.

You mean their clever play on "hello" backwards and a Spanish interjection? Actually, I thought that was rather clever. At least for people who get it. Rolling Eyes

My personal favourite is Korail's GLORY tagline, 'Green Life Of Railway Yearning'. I've spend more than a few minutes on several occasions trying to work out what it means, but am stumped every time.

I also thought it was clever. Hello backwards for a telecommunication company. But it did take me until about six months ago to get it

Even the slogans in Korean are ridiculous. There's a current fad here in Gyeongju to post inexplicable signs that say "Millennium City Infinite Gyeongju" (천년 도시 무한 경주) over government buildings; buses are also called Thousand Year Smile Buses. I've asked my wife, a lifelong resident, to explain these and others to me and she is usually more or less unable to do so.

Just passed a truck with this one on it: CHIK'N THE HOME!

I have no idea if that's a chain of chicken hofs or some chicken supplier.

I thought Seoul's "Soul of Asia" was pretty sickening. A city using a word play of gross butchery of its own name by English speaking foreigners as its own slogan Rolling Eyes
