|
|
I just finished a contract in Daegu and I'm looking to come back to Seoul. I'm sending my resume out to recruiters on the job board, but but I'm wondering if anyone here could recommend a recruiter that helped them find a job in a decent location in Seoul.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
D |

I think the reason you haven't had any responces is because of your use of the adjective "good" before the noun "recruiter". Most people familiar with Korea will look blankly at your post in incomprehension. Noone who has experience here thinks of recruiters in anything but the most uncomplimentary terms. Maybe change your post in such a way as to omit the word 'good'. The simple deletion of that word might, in itself, guarantee a better response. As it stands, readers are simply staring blankly at their computer monitors.

Please check out the following link. For any recruiter that has a job in Seoul - call or email.
http://www.eslcafe.com/jobs/korea/
Please also consider checking out the other 100 or more so threads on recruiters. If you are lucky, maybe ttompatz can give us his cut and paste recruiter low down.
Another hint is try FACEBOOK. Seen some various recruiters on there. Those on there might be a bit well easier to deal with. |

As the poster above said, recruiters are not your friend. Recruiters are basically matchmakers. I'm sure you realize that by now, so to get to your point I would recommend J.J. recruiting if you are looking for what's generally out there in Seoul metropolitan, as it seems that you are. Otherwise, the best jobs might come through contacts.
Not for my current job, but in the past J.J.'s was very polite and effective in helping me land a job in what was my range at the time: money, hours, location, etc. As long as you are clear on what you don't want and are upfront about it, J.J.'s will work with you. Their head person, John Lee, is a respectable person and treated me well.
At the end of the day, and long before that, no recruiter will hold your hand in Korea. They get paid to place you, and that's that. I recommend studying the laws that are pertinent to teachers in Korea, knowing the contact information and scope of key agencies like the labor board, and making friends with a few veteran teachers if possible. The longer that you stay in Korea the more you should get jobs by knowing people and being well known for what you do.
If you need help with other recruiters, I know a few and can help you out by directing you to either Facebook groups or forwarding your info. Just PM me.

very solid post MegaMind.
my recruiter is great, but works mainly in the Bundang area. he also usually has positions in lower part of Seoul near Gangnam.
PM me if you want his contact info.
Good luck! |
