Does anyone know when the application form is released and subsequent interviews will happen this year? I know that the Fall application recruits less people than the Spring intake. How many are accepted into the Fall intake roughly? (if spring is roughly 900 teachers)

I've been told the new application form comes out at the end of March with a view to having interviews in April. A figure I've read for the August intake is 600 but It may be wrong

Any idea on when letters/paperwork will go out on resigning or not?

By the way, I'm curious if the 600 figure is the usual intake or +/-??

I will also be applying to fall program. Does anyone know amount of time between the interview and when you need to submit documents?

Hey! The application comes out late March, however I was suggested to just fill in the previous one as hardly anything changes and then my information is all ready...

The time between the interview and when you need to submit your documents varies. It's a first come first served basis, so as soon as you get the "Yes" confirmation it's good to get your documents in ASAP. Last year I applied, got through the interview stage, sent in my documents and waited and waited and waited for a contract... it eventually came through AFTER orientation (which was a big draw card for me) by which stage I'd already found something else (in Czechland!).

This year I'm considering reapplying, though a little bit hesitant because I found out so late... if I do apply I will submit ALL my documents 1st of April, so that I can get one of the first interviews and hopefully a fast contract...

Are you guys going through recruitment agencies or flying solo?

Where are you hoping to be based? I'm a bit anxious about living in Korea for a year, but I know it'd be a good experience.

I wasn't even aware until recently that recruiters handled EPIK positions. I plan on applying directly unless there are any major advantages to using a recruiter that I am not aware of.

Well, I'm in two minds about using a recruiter. They were pretty helpful last time around in the fact there were some slight errors on my application which they suggested I change, they set up the interview, etc

However, when I decided not to go for the 2011 Fall intake and instead told them I would go the following year, I was led to believe they'd be happy to hold onto my documents until I reapplied. Well, well well! Emailed them the other day to talk about fall 2012 intake and they've kindly thrown out all my documents (TEFL CERT, Original Degree + apostillled copies) so... I'm feeling a little burned and tempted to go the solo route this time...

This fall they're taking ~400 or so applicants.

Epik and therefore, recruiters will officially start to take applications on APRIL 1ST.

March 22nd is when EPIK will announce which 6 agencies have legitimately been approved to find applicants for the program. Check their website on that day to find out. You DO NOT want to sign up with an agency that is not approved!

If you haven't done so already, get your fingerprints done and send off for the first step in finishing your CRC process.

Want more info, I have a post about this whole thing on my blog...

Won't the fingerprints be expired by Fall if we do them now?

I was wondering about the 6 month expiration period as well. I should be getting mine back soon.

So the six approved agencies have been announced

EduCon Inc., ESL Starter Ltd., Footprints Recruiting Incorporated, Gold Key Education, Gone2Korea-Venture Sense Inc., Korvia Consulting

It's looking likely that there are 400 jobs and the application form will be out tomorrow. Does the application form tell you how many positions there are in each city/town? Or do you get this info from the site itself?

Everyone else got all docs ready? I have letters of recommendation, CRC certified with apostille, degree notarized with apostille, personal essay and lesson plan. Am I missing anything?

400 openings plus or minus for the first day of the semester in Aug.

Periodic openings thereafter. It is possilble to find a school with a later start date.

I'm switching schools in my province as a level 1+ salary earner.

Does anyone know which provinces have the higher salaries this go around?

Not necessarily. Even at the time you posted this, if you'd applied for your FBI check, it would take at least two months. So you'd receive the check May 7th. The check would be good until November 7th. Positions start in Aug/Sept, so you'd be fine. And depending on how you're going about getting the apostille, might need to allow enough time for that.

If you're not from the US and your country's CBC doesn't take so long, then just plan accordingly.

It's also possible that if you are from the US and you call your congressman, you might get the FBI check back more quickly than two months. Plan accordingly if you decide to do that.

The timing of your CBC is no small matter. I was accepted to EPIK in Incheon for this spring but lost my position because my CBC took so long. I got positioned out in the sticks as a result. (Thankfully, my old principal from GEPIK saved me from that prospect but that's not something to bank on.)

OK, so the application for Fall 2012 is out. You can't choose your city now. You only have the choice between Metro and Provincial. Sign of too many applying for Seoul/Busan?
