Having lunch today with a friend who has worked for the MOE for many years, he mentioned that the Ulsan MOE is going to demand FT's work on Saturday. Has anyone else heard similar rumors in other cities? |

I have heard that many English hogwans will require their teachers to work on Saturdays. Students will no longer be required to attend public school on weekends starting this year so they will have more time to study at hogwans. |

I work for UMOE. This next school year (in march) the korean teachers don't have to work any Saturdays. they will be required to stay after school (after 2:40 p.m.) and teach a class or two instead.
For foreign teachers, UMOE is offering extra Saturday hours at $20,000 an hr. Some of the work is corporate and some of it involves extra activities with kids. It is all optional as of now. |
