I have been teaching in Korea for about 3 years and have an F2 visa. I have never submitted a CBC or Degree copy to immigration. I got here before a FBI level check was required.
Soon, I will have the original documents with apostilles in hand. I have to submit copies of them to the MOE. Should I give the originals to immigration when I am done? Will they accept and file these documents if I hand them over? Is this a good idea and is it useful for any future use?
Thanks for any help![/quote] |

Immigration doesn't want them from you. It is not a visa or immigration issue for you (unless you get a divorce).
Give copies to the MOE and keep the originals.

| What about if a future visa issue/law comes about? At least if they have them, maybe I won't have to do it again? |

Well the degree will not likely expire. But the CRC might after a while. Still expect illogic and stupidity. You will be surprised one day when some official says this verified degree is a few years old and you need a new. Not needed but it could be asked.
Might want to get into the habit of getting a new check every year. Keep your present papers, in about six months start the process again.
True it might be a little waste of money, but as you said laws might change, and it is better to be prepared and 100 dollars poorer then stressed and losing 1000 dollars or more due to plane tickets or lost pay, etc. |

Kimmi doesn't deal in speculation.
They don't want it from you now (you hold an F2 /F6 visa). They won't take it from you now. You won't need it for an extension. They do their own check when you switch to F5.
