| Would anyone be willing to help me create an example lesson plan for an application? I have experience tutoring ESL, but I'm going to be a new teacher. I would love it if someone could help me understand what they are looking for. Thank you! |

Start by writing down:
0. Where English room
1. What time 1.20 pm
2. How long 40 min
3. What class grade 6-1
4. Level of Competancy beginer-intermediate
5. Approach eclectic/holistic/grammar/etc
6. text book pages ##-##
7. Resources needed song CD, ppt of flags of nations
8. lesson objective I am from Canada.
A. Warm up 5 min
B. Open to page ## 20 min
i. look and listen, understand?
ii. listen and repeat
C. Let's sing 10 min
if time left
D. Let's play 5min
if not
E. I am from Canada/vietnam
That's a barebones version of a lesson plan. |

I am absolutely clueless what that is a lesson plan for. The objective is "I am from Canada" but the questions 0 (usually I number starting with 1, but ok, A for ingenuity, to 2 (1-3 in my head) has to do with the classroom. Then the rest until the objective is teacher's info, not really lesson content.)
I could never have a lesson plan like this.
If the lesson is about Canada, I would talk about big cities in Canada like Vancouver (for me it's Toronto because I am from Detroit, I am not sure how "famous" it is for others but I think Vancouver is the most often mentioned.) Talk about hobbies like hockey. I am not originally from Canada so I will leave the culture for a Canuck to share. Perhaps some differences between American and Canadian English. |

Translating ..... I am lazy and need somebody to do my work. Thinking is so hard.
Well to not be a complete bastard check out the following books.
"Teaching English as a Foreign Language For Dummies"
"Planning Lessons and Courses: Designing Sequences of Work for the Language Classroom"
If you want to find them for free use google keep the quaotes and add the word "avax". Downloaded, open read, study.
OR sir are you willing to pay for said lesson planning.
If so what is your offer. If not I am sure as heck not going to do a bunch of work for nothing. |

YTMND: as I said it is a bare bones version. Elementary grade 6 textbook lesson 1 is about learning the preposition 'from' in the context of meeting a new transfer student from Vietnam.
Some need lesson plan such as this because the co-teacher needs the info 0 to 8 and most co-teachers like to stick to the textbook.
Yes it needs more content but my co-teacher said it's past 5 PM and she wanted to go home. |

No, actually, I don't want someone to do my work for me, but thank you for your delightful and welcoming attitude.
I was asking if someone would be kind enough to tell me what they are looking for, so I can create the plan myself. I filled out a lengthy application for some schools. Part of this application is a sample lesson plan. They provided me with a template, and I used the template to create a plan regarding adjectives. (Like I said, I've been an ESL tutor for years, so I know grammar inside and out!) However, my recruiter (a very nice fellow!) asked me if I would add more information. I was at a loss, so thought I would ask actual teachers who probably have experience and would know exactly what kind of detail is needed. No, not actually write the plan, but tel me that "x, y, and z" definitely should be on it, etc.
The one I submitted was actually a lot more deailed than andrew's, however, so maybe I just need to write more filler.
Btw YTMND, I like your name. Have you ever seen uncut, ohh!? I did that one! I created a meme! exciting stuff! |

Specifics! Your original post is two sentences. Why did you not try to give some details. Ask some serious indepth questions. Put some effort into the post. It was a bit vague as I missed the keyword - they
Well then what kind of they. Public school, hagwon, University? Age of students? Once again details! Little info and useless info I made assumptions. I read have esl tutoring experience but no teaching. So I guessed likely he is applying for a public school but maybe not. Once again no details.
Let's take two questions:
I want to know how to program a computer. Can anybody help me?
OR
I trying to learn to program a computer. I am thinking of working with web page. I have picked up some basic web programming books finished and read them. I have been practicing for about 2 months and have developed two sites. I was wondering about such applications as RUBY and PYTHON. .......
Sure as heck do not ask me for planning. One I am lazy and two I am more a pick up book and teach kind of guy.
Still Good Luck to the OP. Maybe the second boo | | |
