Howdy,

I'm working on a media project and I want to be able to add hyper-links to the main document. I have copied the homepage of a web-site and will adapt it for my project. I want to add links on it to take people to other sites.

If anyone can give me the KISS version please pm me.

Thanks a bunch,

Kate

Hi kate,

Let's see if I can help. First of all, if you want to insert hyperlink, your document should be saved as html. You can do it using an editing tool like Microsoft Frontpage or Dreamweaver or hardcode in a notepad.

To add HTML hyperlink, you type

<A HREF="yourdocument.html"> Click here to view my document</A>.

You can email your document to my email address, if you want me to take a look. Good luck!

If you want the page to open in a new window add : target="_blank"
Like so-->

<A HREF="yourdocument.html" target="_blank"> Click here to view my document</A>.

Thanks Stunted Wookie and the rest of you helpful posters. Smile

Trinny said she would help me finish it up. I had a lot of fun doing a spoof on Trent University's Homepage. I hope my prof likes it. Rolling Eyes

Have a good weekend,

Hello again,

I'm so happy. I figured out how to add hyper-links but there are two of them that I want to link to a photo, and an article. I will scan and save the photo and I need to post the article on-line, I guess, so I can make a link to it. Rolling Eyes

If there is someone out there that can instruct me on how to do this I would be truly appreciative.

Until next time,

Kate

if you want to link to a picture then:
<a href="pic.jpg(or.gif)"> my pic </a>
is that what you need? ^^''[/quote]

I have not got a clue what that means. Rolling Eyes You'll have to be more detailed than that. Sorry!

Regards,

Kate

Wow! What a challenge. Confused I don't have a scanner at home so I'll have to try it at the uni.

Thanks,

A huge thank you to all the posters who kindly offered their help. Very Happy

I puddled through it and I'm pleased to say I only have one thing to add to my media product. What started out as a project, that is worth 15% of my total mark for my Cultural Studies course, has now turned into my own 'msn groups site.'

I will post the URL for this site after I hand in the assignment and get my grade. So all you Trent alumni out there, I hope you'll check out my site. Smile

Best regards,

Kate in Canada

P.S. A special thanks to panthermodern. Very Happy
