I recently switched jobs. My ex employer has been trying to scam me in various ways since then. Her first trick was saying the door was broken and I would need to pay 1.3 mil to fix it. I had my man call the building owner and he told me the door is fine and if it were broken fixing it would cost 60k max. She is now trying to charge me the apartment maintenance for now despite the fact that I don't live there. I told her I won't be paying it and if she tries to deduct anything out of my last wage for it I will do all I can to make her regret it. Any input on this is appreciated! |

How did you switch jobs? Did you give her the proper notice or did you pack up and leave as soon as the new job opened up?
You ex-employer is probably stuck with a classroom of kids with no teacher and some angry parents wondering what happened to their teacher. Hagwons are a business, they are not schools.
So, your ex-boss is looking at a much bigger loss than just losing you. That is probably driving her to get "even".
Apartment maintenance should only be like ~30,000w in a villa and about 90,000w-120,000 in an officetel. If its only that much, I'd jsut give it to her and be done with the whole situation. If she is trying to get MORE than that for apartment maintenance and you did everything right (proper notice given) then march into her office and get what you worked for. |

I gave her a months notice and got a release letter. They would have been high and dry if I ran as it was before graduation. It looked like they would have a new teacher when I was leaving, but I heard that the person backed out. The hagwon breaks the law at the moment with the way they operate. I feel like calling them in but then they probably won't give me my last months wage. My K bf is going to see them on Monday. He won't take any crap, but it would be good to know some legal stuff to throw at them. |
