Maybe you've seen one of those TV shows where they have a bunch of different kids sing solo. Its usually a contest so they have a big number on their chest. Or maybe you've just heard your younger students sing.

But... anyone have any idea why their singing sounds like half-way between screaming and screetching? Its so ridiculously high-pitched. I've heard plenty of foreign kids sing before and its nothing like that. Its a uniquely Korean thing. Are they taught that that why is proper?

Secondly, all the songs sound exactly the same. The words are different because I can read the lyrics as they scroll across the screen but the universally piano-played tune sounds nearly identical every time.

Its not even like singing sometimes... just yelling with the music. Confused

And, on Americian TV there are many popular show showing young childern hitting their fathers in the groin with thrown objects ...

It is only TV and TV is not reality ...

I love these "Korean TV posts" ...

Have you watched "American TV" ... its [bleep]ed

If you saw a Korean version of 60 Minutes on Korean TV whould you know what it was ?

If you saw a Korean kid kick a soccer ball into his Dad's groin whould you understand it ?

My opinion is that Westerners can't understand good Korean TV and can only fixate on what they can understand, the lowest commmon TV and thus post about it ...

OK, I am lying ... All Korean TV is stupid.

Right on those damn kids can't sing.

Any child who sings - is worth listening to.... I encourage any child in my class who wants to sing to sing- no matter how bad they are...

Its a pity we lose our innocence somewhere along life's journey - and many adult persons cannot sing thereafter.

Don't criticise the kids - at least they still have somethng to sing about...

If you want to listen to kids with a more gruffy, deeper voice - hell I don't know - try mexican or russian kids choirs.
