Is anyone planning to buy this? I'm pretty excited. I was a big Diablo II fan and I think D3 is going to be amazing. |

Sure will. I was a bit disappointed with the classes in the game, but they seemed pretty fun in the beta. I think I'll roll a monk first.
I'm wondering if there will be localized versions. I want to play with my Korean friends, but hope I don't have to buy a Korean version like I did with Starcraft 2. |

judging by how Blizzard has done things with the rest of their products, it'll be localized.
You will need to Korean version to play on Korean servers. And I doubt they will have an option to play in English, since even WoW doens't let you change from Korean to English. |

you played beta? cool ... i wanted to but never got a chance.
the diablo 3 purchase page has the option to buy a korean language version of D3 and Korea/Asia is listed as a region. so i'm sure there will be a korean based server to play on ... korea's a big market and blizzard knows that.
D3 comes in pc and mac flavours, so i was pretty thrilled about that. i'm a mac guy and was worried there'd be no D3 for mac. |

The Diablo 3 beta only takes an hour to finish, so it's hardly more than a short demo, but at least you get to try out the different characters. The feel of the game is very similar to D2. I was at first disappointed with the lack of customization options (no stat assignments or skill tree), but I think the new system might end up even better by letting you focus on a few skills and not having to restart if you want to try a different build.
Playing SC2 in Korean wasn't much of an issue since I mainly played it in multiplayer where the text hardly matters, but I feel like I'll miss out on a lot if I have to play D3 in Korean. |

i don't think that will be a problem. on the purchase page (from what i read) you choose your language pack and your server independently. it offered me the korean server (based on my ip address) and was still going to let me pre-purchase the english version.
i haven't pulled the trigger on the pre-purchase yet, but it's damn tempting. i honestly don't know if i want to play on a korean server though ... LOL |

Would be hard to communicate with other players if your Korean isn't good. That would seriosuly affect gameplay. I remember playing WoW, the only class I could play was Healer. Every other class required some sort of communication with the party/raid. As long as no one died, everyone left me alone. |

So true. I'll be getting the NA version and just biting the bullet on ping. |

I wonder if it'll be possible to have a good old fashioned junk food and beer, 10 sweaty nerds crammed into a two bedroom apartment LAN party with it, or if the online-only multi-player will render the game unplayable by large masses over one Internet connection. This was a crucial part of the Diablo 2 experience for me. |

I even resorted to firing up Diablo II every so often. |

I still play Diablo 2. These days it is more to keep the accounts from expiring than anything else. Over several years, I have built up such a collection of gg items, I just can't seem to walk away completely from the game.
I'm going to wait a while and see what people say about Diablo 3. But I'm sure I will play it. |

Yeah I'll be getting it.
D3 is different from other Blizz games, in that it's not region locked. You can buy an English client, then play it in any region you want. I'll be playing on the Korean servers, lag would make the game unplayable in a party once you get to the later difficulties. (you can even try it out on the NA servers, then switch to Korean if you're not happy with the lag. characters won't transfer though)
Also, D3 has no LAN support. It's all B-net, all the time.
Once it gets a bit closer to release, anyone playing on the Korean servers should post up their ID's here. I'm sure we can get a decent number of people to play with, hell I'm sure at least a couple of my friends here in Gwangju will be playing as well. And the auction house means you don't need to be able to speak Korean to do your trading.
Anyone have experience getting Korean B-net accounts? Will our foreign ID's work for that? |

that'd be fun! do raiding parties ... a bunch of foreigners going on raids would be so freaking awesome.
i play a few nexon games (mostly warrock) and there's a lot of foreigners (mongolians, brazilians, etc) who make groups and clans together ... could be good for a few laughs.
also, no lan? dang! |

Somebody's been playing too many MMO's. There is no raiding in Diablo games.
Everything in the game is solo-able, (as long as your gear is up to snuff) and the difficulty of the game scales to the number of players. Max number of players at once is 4, hardly a raid group. |
