Hello

What happens to customer card points accumulated at Home Plus, E-Mart, and Hanaro Mart? Is something sent in the mail automatically? Do you need to do something overtly to redeem the points?

Thanks for any information.

They send you coupons (in the mail) redeemable against future purchases.
(usually in 1000, 2000 or 5000 won denominations).

Thanks, Tom. Do you know if all three of these stores work this same way? Do I need to do anything for even one of them?

I don't know about Hanaro mart, but homeplus sends you monthly coupons, E-mart requires you to go to their customer service desk to exchange for vouchers. They (e-mart) have recently changed their card design, but I am not sure if they've also changed their redemption method, though.

There is also an application for your smartphone (if you have one) for Homeplus anyways. They send you the gift cards to your phone and they can scan them at the check-out.

Also, make sure they don't throw away the coupons after your receipts at the check-out. They sometimes give you 2x/3x point bonus coupons. I am always having them dig in their trash because they don't think I use them or can't read what they mean.
