Ya know what? You're right. Let's just not do it at all.

That's it, pack it up folks, no beer for ANYONE. Twisted Evil

This thought had crossed my mind. I hope it will be sufficiently organized to avoid this. I actually thought they would have charged for the beer. I would have happily paid for quality micro. I guess we will have to wait and see, but I can only guess at the massive throngs of people clamouring for free beer.

If there are ten beers, then you will have a maximum of 18 minutes between venues to sample all the beers in three hours.

Wow, nice call. Exactly right. We have already made alternate plans.

I made an update to this post. Anyway, yeah, it's going to be guided anarchy. We're definitely going to run out of beer pretty fast. That said, it's still going to be an amazing day. Pretty much every bar has a drink special on *craft beer*. Think about that for a minute. All the Rogue, Anderson Valley, and West Coast beer will be discounted. Yeahhhh.

"Discounted"? This is starting to sound like "bait and switch."

Well the already heavy falling n a lot heavier rain in prospect later ( and into tomm) will take away much of the satisfaction of the event!
Bar hopping , sitting outside n wandering the streets with cups in hand just won't be the same in a day like today.. Sad

At least there will be more beer for those that do go..

Unfortunate overall tho!!

Yeah, the weather sucked bad. But we got our cups at Magpie, sampled some killer pale ale, then went around the corner to Craftworks. There there were three great micros and Craftworks seven. So, all in all, a pretty decent day.

I think the organizers did a good job. Just remember: "A good deed never goes unpunished."

LOL @ the complainers in this thread.

Like you're just entitled to a bottomless cup of free beer.

There's free beer first, and when it runs out, you can buy the stuff at a discount. Makes sense to me.

Got out there yesterday and it was great. Would have been amazing if the weather had cooperated, but then, more people would have shown up.

Hope it went well for the organizers and we get another one in the fall. I'd be willing to pay 5-10,000 for the cup if there could be a reasonable expectation of getting to try all or most of the beers. Would probably cut down the crowd a bit too, since by the looks of this thread, even free beer isn't good enough.

I can't believe that an event giving away free beer could possibly get negative comments directed at it! Some people will moan about anything. I went along and it was definitely not a 'clusterf@ck'. In fact it was pretty well organised and I managed to sample quite a few of the free beers before they started to run out at around 4pm.

Shame about the weather but it was a good day. Cheers to all those involved in setting it up!
