Anyone visited there before? Or lived there. How is it living there compared to Seoul or vs. JUNGGYE (If you know anything about that place as well).
Thank you,

I lived there for a couple of years. Plenty of other Westerners of that's important for you. It's not incredibly exciting, but I was happy enough. Plenty of places to go out and eat, not too far from the heritage site. You can get to Seoul reasonably quickly - maybe an hour. You can PM me the school and I'll tell you if I know anything about it. |

I lived in or near Yong Tong for 5 years. Lots of happy memories from there.
It's not Itaewon but it's got one of the nicest expat vibes in Korea.
I'm pretty sure you'll be happy. |

I was there over the weekend. I know some people that go to a Christian Church there, and judging from your SN that might be a big deal for you. |

Yeongtong's OK. You've got a big Megabox movie complex and HomePlus. There are some hiking trails, nothing great but still a chance to get outdoors. The new 5107 bus gets you to Seoul in usually less than 45 minutes, although on weekends it can be tough to get a seat--they don't let anyone stand.
There's good money there from all the Samsung employees, but it's also kind of conservative. A pretty good Mexican restaurant opened up there a few months or so ago and quickly went under. There's an Outback and they're finally getting a Starbucks. |

Finally! Now people in YT can mince about with a Starbucks' frappuccino dangling from their limp wrists. |

Any Yeongtongites up for a meet-up sometime? I find myself always heading to Seoul to meet friends but rarely hanging in my own lovely little town. |

I live there bud, quality buzz. Everything in walking distance and life considerably slower and more relaxed than the madness of Seoul. Also sweet transport ya can get to Seoul in 40mins by bus. Yeongtong has the highest e2 visa applications the past two years in korea apparently so there's plenty of foreigners. |

Samsung employs lots of foreign workers at their factories, to which Yeongtong is quite close. |
