| When will the Libertarian Part ever catch on with the American voters? |

Well, one of the following things would have to happen:
1. Corporations benefiting from the D/R dichotomy could abandon their economic advantage from manipulating the government (I'm looking at you, Goldman Sachs)
2. Extraordinarily wealthy private citizens could donate to support the Libertarian message, negating the advantage of corporatist Ds and Rs
3. The majority of Americans could get their news and commentary from independent sources with no vested interest in promoting the D/R dichotomy
Obviously #3 is the most likely, but even that's a slow process. |

Governor Gary Johnson was elected to two terms as Governor of New Mexico. He is more experienced and more qualified than Romney for POTUS.
| Quote: |
| A successful businessman who lives in Taos, NM, Mr. Johnson is known as an unwavering crusader for fiscal responsibility, free enterprise and individual freedoms. During his gubernatorial tenure, he used his veto pen more than 750 times to forestall attempts to grow government and put an end to wasteful government projects. He cut taxes while maintaining New Mexico as one of only four states in the country with a balanced budget. The state boasted a $1 billion budget surplus when Mr. Johnson left office in 2003. |
Governor Johnson has been joined by Judge James Gray running for Vice President on the Libertarian ticket.
| Quote: |
| James "Jim" P. Gray (born February 14, 1945) is an American jurist, politician, drug law reform activist, and author. He was the presiding judge of the Superior Court of Orange County, California. Gray was the 2004 Libertarian candidate for the United States Senate in California. He is the author of multiple non-fiction books dealing with legal and political issues. |
Both of these men are well known in the movement for the legalization of marijuana which is presently supported by a majority of American voters. |

| Despite the soundness of many of his positions, and his record, he won't be taken seriously because he is not a good speaker. It was painful to see him at the Republican debate. If your best line is a stolen rush limbaugh punch line, you don't have much. Not saying that this is how it should be, but this is how it is. |

Gary Johnson was recently found to have been polling at 15% in his home-state in New Mexico.
However, now the same polling company has conducted a survey which says he is polling at 8% in Montana too.
The poll asked: If the candidates for President this fall were Democrat Barack Obama, Republican Mitt Romney, and Libertarian Gary Johnson, who would you vote for?
Mitt Romney.. 43%
Barack Obama 41%
Gary Johnson .. 8%
Undecided.. 7%
When the data is broken down further, Johnson appears to be capturing 4% of Democrats and 5% of Republicans. Among self-described independents, Johnson surges to 15%.
The former New Mexico governor is also polling at 13% among voters under the age of 30. |
