|

There's a bunch of inconsistent information floating around and I can't make heads or tails of it. My F4 visa (in my US passport) is set to expire in about a month and I'm looking to renew it; this is NOT a renewal of the alien registration card (ARC), which is something I did last year and was told was a separate process.
What documents and items do I need to renew my F4 visa in Korea? I'm under the general impression that I need bring my US passport and a new passport photo along with a renewal document I should fill out at the office of choice I'll be going to. Other threads here have mentioned birth certificates, my mother's/father's family registration, and so on. Has anyone had direct experience? Any help would be great. |

Your ARC is your visa, you need to keep your ARC valid not the visa in your passport.
Sounds like your just mixing up different parts of the process.
I'm on an F6 now but I applied from overseas, got a 90 day visa in my passport, travelled to Korea, went to immigration and got a 1 year ARC (nothing in passport), after that year renewed the ARC to a 2 year extension, (again nothing in passport) so the visa in my passport expired over a year ago but my visa is still current by having a current ARC. |
