A bit hard to play the "victimized immigrant" card when you're getting puke drunk and partying. More so when your Korean farmer husband is beating you to a pulp and abandoning the kids or your boss is sending you to work in the factory for 16 hours a day and then stealing your pay.

Now Now, we are forgetting the dude's mother who is probably a little peeved that her potential daughter-in-law won't be there to cook and clean for her. I can picture the first kimchi harvest being not just spicy, but bitter.

On the other hand she might be breathing a sigh of relief that now she can take all the money she scrimped and saved over the years by buying her son cheap clothes and toys, and now her and daddy can go on a 6th month vacation, whereas if he married a KGirl then she'd have to pretend that "mother is so poor, we need you to take care"

Your racial stereotyping really is getting out of hand these days, Steelrails. While I don't agree with everything you write I expect better from you than the drivel above.
The stereotyping in the video and in your posts is distressing. Sadly I expect it from some of the posters here, but not you.

there have been shows by Korean media showing how many Korean men have bastard children in the Philipines, thailand etc.
these guys are real pieces of work, they get the local girls pregnant, and then just ditch the children and the girls behind when their sojourn is up, or soon as they find out. ,
sure westerners do it too,
ohh and all the HIV, STDS which are spreading around Korea... YEAH. they come from Korean men who go to *beep* bars in thailand, philipines china, DON'T WEAR CONDOMS and then come back here and pass it on to the whores in the red lights and room salons here which these guys frequent.

did I also mention who many Korean women are working as prostitutes in our countries and how many Korean men are doing crimes, selling drugs etc in our countries? in case you didn't know. MILLIONS!
thought I would just throw that in there.

but hey, again that's all our fault.. just like the virginia tech shooting was our fault, because it was an American store which sold him the gun.
remember that great piece of journalism? trying to blame USA for the shooting, because he was able to buy the gun in the states. hahahaha

There are so many problems with this comment, I just can't.

1. Foreign women aren't mentioned even once in the video. Not sure why you're bringing us into the discussion, except to remind everyone once again that foreign men are far superior to their Korean counterparts. Typical Dave's style.

I'm bringing foreign women into the discussion because if Korean men had the same success rate with foreign women, then this wouldn't be an issue.

Quote:
2. "your" women vs. "ours"??? Oh shit, sorry, I forgot for a moment that I belonged to anyone, that I'm just a pawn in a game of whose-cock-is-bigger-than-whose. That was pretty silly of me. Thanks for putting me back in my place.

Perhaps the choice of the term "our" was poor, but I wasn't referring to property, but the clear fact that there is a gigantic disparity between mixed couples in Korea.

And to deny this is phony.

Quote:
3. Whose "reality" is it that foreign women are not attracted to Korean men? Yours? Because 100% of my relationships in Korea have been with Korean men. Same goes for many of my friends. Hell, there's a massive community of tumblr blogs dedicated to the *ahem* escapades of foreign girls who have it bad for Koreans. Lemme tell you, Korean guys are doing just fine~ in that department. Don't feel too sorry for them. Step outside of Itaewon and have a look around Hongdae or Gangnam on any given Saturday night to see just how "insecure" they're feeling. Laughing

Yeah good for you, but again you do realize you are in the minority.

Wake up to reality!

Perhaps you and "many" of your friends have had relationships with Koreans men. Okay, but you do realize that this is clearly not the norm both here and especially back home?

I'm just calling out the elephant in the room here folks!

And as a man who is clearly (and perhaps unfairly) in the easier side of things I know I sound pompous.

By let's face it.....many Korean men have a gigantic complex to Korean women being with foreign guys. I've lived here in Korea for 6 plus years and I know what I'm talking about.

I don't know how you can't argue against this.

Yep, I remember seeing one of these shows during my first year here. And I've also met many Filipinos who actively despise Koreans precisely for this reason. When I tell them that I live in Korea, their faces turn.

A young Korean guy (3rd year uni I think) I used to teach went off the the Philippines to study English for a year, and came back a father and a husband. At least he did the decent thing, but countless others don't.

I wonder how the numbers compare, between Korean guys doing it in SE Asia, and Western guys doing it in Korea. I could take a pretty good guess...

The video is on the sensational side but as Korea tries to make its way in defining what sort of society it wants it has to engage in these sorts of debates. The next night MBC might have had a video about Koreans and overseas prostitution. Its the nature of the television beast. I wouldn't get too worked up about it.

Now, as for Korean women dating foreign guys I've always tended to believe the Korean women were angels rather than whores, lol. I mean honestly some of the foreign guys I've met with Korean women seemed so average and boring or psychologically/emotionally messed up, but mostly boring. You've just got to be an angel to stay with some of these guys. There have been some exceptions of course but they really need to bow down and thank the Hollywood fantasy machine and the 14 trillion dollar US economy...just my opinion. Wink

It's particularly insulting considering how many Korean children E-2 visa countries have adopted from South Korea.

South Korea has the longest running international adoption program and has sent the most children overseas for adoption than any other country in the world to date 150,944 children between 1953 and 2006 according to official statistics from the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare. Of this total, 104,319 were adopted by American citizens constituting approximately one out of every ten Korean-Americans.

http://relativechoices.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/11/27/south-korea-and-its-children/

My small hometown in the USA has adopted a lot of full-blooded Korean orphans. Two people I went to high school with in the 1990s have since adopted Korean children.

While it's not the circumstance in all cases, most of these children were a result of South Korean women having sex with South Korean men under irresponsible circumstances.

There's no doubt foreign men adopt more Korean bastards than we produce. There's no doubt the same cannot be said for South Korean men.

Can't speak for stats, but almost everybody I know in the States who's been adopted is ethnically Korean. Wondered why that is. Now that I think about it, the few I Europeans I met who are adoptees are also ethnically Korean.

Adoption is very uncommon in Korean culture, so most are adopted by foreigners.

http://www.iexaminer.org/news/features/stigma-korean-adoption/

Plus, the exportation of children is lucrative for South Korea. It not only brings in revenue, but it decreases the Korean government's social services costs.

What's sad is that the idiot American says "it's so easy to get Korean girls" blah blah blah.
Even if it is why do you say it for the camera? What are you 15 years old?
These are teacher, lol, makes them sound like they're on sex tourism run.
Don't put yourself out there, fools. Keep that to yourself and your friends--not a camera.

I have a feeling "they" don't want us to feel comfortable or be accepted when this kind of journalism is going on.

In a similar high quality ""documentary"", 9/10 of the same women said they'd rather be raped and killed by a Chinese man in Suwon.

I get the feeling I'm the only one around here who believes there should be an eye for an eye regarding this. All English-speaking countries should make documentaries about Korean people being ""parasites of society"" in their countries to balance this out and let the Koreans know that hard ball is hard ball. But alas, only Asian people are allowed to be first class citizens it seems. Maybe it's just dessert for us spawning a parasitic banking elite.

Hundreds of people have already joined the newly formed "Action against MBC Korea and their racist, biased 'reporting' " group on facebook. Various options are being discussed such as organizing a flashmob outside of MBC headquarters.
