| A generous (un-corrupt) judge would have given Bradley 5 of those rounds, at most. |

| I saw it 9 rounds to 3 for Pacman. He hurt Bradley, threw many more power punches. To say Bradley 'won' the fight is a joke. |

Having not had the chance to actually have viewed the thing, I'll side with the overwhelming chorus in favor of Pacman for the sake of discussion.
Topic being- Why in God's name did they gift Bradley?
If it was so obvious, what motive drove them to lose so much credibility and damage prospects for a Mayweather-Pac showdown?
Everyone knows a Mayweather fight is where the megabucks are, enough for everyone to gorge on and still have enough leftover for $100 tips to bellhops and ho's.
The highlights do show that Pac caught Bradley with a coupla lefts, but nothing totally convincing. Again, I'll have to see the thing in its entirety, but if he's still got it you'd reckon he'd a just destroyed Bradley to leave no doubt. That he wasn't able to leaves doubt in my mind whether he really merits a fight with Mayweather on his (Pac's) financial terms (a cut of TV revenues), as Mayweather (let's face it) is levels above Bradley.
Man, Mayweather may has well hop into the ring and destroy Pac just to clear the air and be done with it. |

I've heard Teddy Atlas state (on ESPNs Friday Night Fights) that he did not think that Pacqaio-Mayweather would happen because Bob Arum wouldn't be able to make enough profit after having to pay huge purses to the fighters.
Although the crafty Arum joined the bandwagon of critics who blasted the decision - after disingenuously admitting that he would make a lot of money on the rematch - it's pretty clear what the motivation was for fixing the fight (and that Arum didn't major in ethics while at Harvard Law School).

Mayweather would last 2-3 rounds gainst Pacman before the ground and you know it. Bradley is a good fighter and thats what he did. Pacman is a supreme greater fighter and that's what he did. shame on the judges of that fight...shame on them. they wronged boxing and tried to pull a fast one on us fans...sorry, we were watching, we were watching and saw Pacquiao win that fight. shame on them... |

| I'm no expert on boxing but I've always had a feeling that Mayweather is a bit afraid of Pacman, if I'm wrong feel free to correct me. Having said that, and liking a good conspiracy, could this be a possibility? Since Bradley "won" the title, that could set up a Bradley/Mayweather fight. I'm pretty sure most everyone would say Mayweather would win that bout. Now you get your Pacman/Mayweather fight and the promoters can make their money, as they can pay Pacman less saying he doesn't deserve a champions money as he is no longer a title holder. |

Just think...who has the most to gain by a Pacquiao loss and a mandatory rematch? That would be the crook who promotes both Bradley and Pacman...Bob Arum.
Just because he is claiming that the decision was a travesty, don't be fooled. He's just covering his butt.
He is the one preventing a Pacman/Mayweather fight over tremendously bad blood with Mayweather (who he used to promote).
I love boxing so much...just wish it wasn't so corrupt.
All you have to do is watch the fight round by round and compare each round with the judge's scorecards to plainly see the fix was in.
What a joke! |

Haha I see everyone is outraged and I understand it. While I did initially join the outrage and indulge in the possibility of a Bob Arum conspiracy, after listening to Max Kellerman and visiting a couple boxing sites, I wasn't so sure.
As Kellerman said, some boxing experts he trusts gave the fight to Tim and it would be wise to rewatch the fight without the commentary and chats from the crowd to influence one's thinking. I'm gonna do this as I have had my mind changed on previous fights after watching the fight again and learning more about the scoring/judging system. I'd also like to get a copy of the judges' scorecards (should be out on the internet sometime) and compare.
It doesn't help that I saw this on a crappy live feed that also lagged quite a bit as well. Decisions tend to have a huge disparity depending on who watches it. Which is why we have judges instead of fan votes like in America Idol. Heck in my pro fight, I thought I lost while my trainer was convinced the decision should've went to me. Unlike the majority of the boxing community, I also thought Pacquiao won the Marquez fight too.

The biggest obstacle in the Mayweather Pac fight has been Bob Arum. Any notions of a fighter being "afraid" of another fighter is just propaganda spewed by fan boys and the respective camps of the fighters. If there is a conspiracy, I'm with OBwannabe that it's Arum trying to set up a Bradley/Pac rematch to try and milk as much money as possible from Pac while at the same time creating a superstar out of a guy who beat Pacquiao. This in turn will transform Bradley into Top Rank's future money maker.
I'm not gonna jump into conclusions after I rewatched the fight though. |

I'm surprised people aren't talking about this a lot more. Guess most people have their mind set on what happened. I rewatched the fight again after downloading a much higher quality version and skimmed through it again for rounds I thought that could've gone either way.
I think Bradley won that fight. I scored it while not listening to the obviously biased HBO commentators and had Bradley winning 7 rounds. Some were close and it's easy argue that Pacquiao won, but it wasn't a robbery. It was a close fight and the decision accurately reflected that in my opinion. |

You're right on the money. I watched the fight with no commentary, and I thought it was a 50/50 call. So, it wasn't surprising to see the cards went the way they did. Let's remember that Pacquiao won a very close encounter with Juan Manuel Marquez last November, so the great (of which he is) fighter is not immune to close calls. This one went against him. That's boxing.
I thought Bradley used his double jab well, and slipped the counter punches effectively. He had a solid plan. I'm looking forward to the re-match.
fermentation Did you watch the fight again? What did you think this time?
Oh, for those of you who remember him, give a moment up for Cuba's Teofilo Stevenson, the legend amateur boxer who died from a heart attack on Monday aged 60.
He dominated amateur boxing for fourteen years, and became the first fighter to win the Olympic gold medal in the same division three times. (Super Heavy weight)
He had 302 victories in 321 bouts.
He was asked to give up his amateur status to fight Ali, but said "What is one million dollars compared with the love of eight million Cubans?" |
