SYDNEY, June 17 (Yonhap) -- South Korea and Australia have agreed to allow holders of driver's licenses from the two countries to obtain reciprocal licenses without taking written or driving tests, the South Korean embassy in Canberra said Sunday.
The agreement was made recently between the South Korean mission and Austroads, the authority governing transportation in the land Down Under, a spokesman for the embassy said.
Under the agreement, Australian local governments are required to exempt holders of a South Korean driver's license, aged 25 or older, from taking tests |

Well I'm glad they at least made this proviso. From what I've been told about getting your license in Korea it seems like the Australian system is a lot stricter and requires a lot more experience. My girlfriend's had her license for like five years or so and she's only driven on the open-road twice in her life, the longest period for like twenty minutes or something. |
