Hi, ordered some books, looks like the order is still being processed but might ship pretty soon. It's coming from USA.

Problem is when I filled out the form and it said "enter 'ship to' address", I didn't know whether the Amazon computers would handle and print out a shipping label in Hangul. So instead I filled out the form completely in the english version of my Korea address. However I really wonder if I misplaced one little "a" or "e" and the Korean post office system might reject it and say "we don't know this address, is that Seodemun or Seodaemun? Or Seodaemon or Seodemoon?" And then they might get all ansy and refuse the parcel(??).

Anyone else had stuff sent to them with address label written only in english and if so, was the address exactly "dead on" translation into written english? Any misspellings but the package/letter still made it? Because I might have made a few slight misspellings, and I wonder how well this Korean postal system is going to deal with it.

I always have things mailed to me with a transliterated adress. Not too many of my friends or family members can write in hangul. Your probably okay, since hangul is transliterated in a variety of ways, unless you've got things completely wrong. If you've got the correct postal code, that'll probably help a lot too.

I've got a magazine subscription with a company that has yet to get my address right -- and that after 14 months overseas. (Their computer system supposedly isn't designed to handle foreign addresses, even though they offer foreign rates. )

ANYWAY, I've gotten every single issue even though they left street address off one, my dong off a couple, the province off still another, etc. The Korean postal service seems more service-oriented than the U.S. (either that, or the local guys just deliver all packages bearing English labels to the one hagwon in town that hires foreign teachers).

Just to back up what everyone else is saying- I've had a few things sent from England, always in romanised korean- as long as you get the address there or thereabouts it seems to get here

You should be fine, especially if the right building number and postal code is on the address. Mail carriers can read English.

I've had no problem recieving stuff at transliterated adresses. I had stuff ordered from Amazon.com but it actually ended up coming from Australia.

I've found that Yes Asia has almost as good a selection as Amazon.com and they will deliver for free within a few days. Their regular shipping is as quick as Amazon's fastest shipping method so you end up saving quite a bit of money. They will accept addresses in Korean or English.

The Korean post office is amazingly good at that sort of stuff, even if you get your postal code wrong or don't put one on at all it still finds its way to you.
