Never saw him in much, and he always blurred in my mind with Anthony Quinn, for some reason. But I did watch Marty a few years back, and thought it was pretty good. Can't recall a lot about his performance, more the legendary dialogue by Paddy Chayefsky.

Fatso in "From Here To eternity' played the sadistic guard with just a vague hint of homo-erotic menace,great performance. Solid in everything he
did.
A story of him standing in line at an audition when he was in his 80's a casting director asked him why would he a star like him would be auditioning. he replied "I'm unemployed and need a job." |
