|

Because of the failure of Viacom and DirecTV to reach an agreement, Viacom has for whatever reason decided to stop allowing viewers to watch full episodes from the Comedy Central website. I tried watching the episodes on Hulu with a VPN (Hotspot Shield) and Hulu recognizes that it's a VPN and blocks it. Suggestions? |

All these people are such idiots. "Haha! We've blocked their access on this site. And since this is the only site in the entire world that could ever host such a show, as is my understanding of the internet as an 89 year old, they will never get ahold of it! Mwahahahahaha!" Their medium is dying and these are the last gasps of dying tycoons. Why isn't contnet available globally? Is there a way for us to watch it legally, even if we pay? Nope! But we're criminals if we download it. Whatever. Why isn't the Daily Show offered now? Not because it costs anything to have it available here (actually it costs more to block it). It's because they can't profit ENOUGH from it. It's like salting the earth after leaving. Idiots.
Anyway, there are lots of download sites although I don't want to list them here. Also, try googling 'watch American TV with firefox'. I'm not sure if that method works on CC, but it does on several other US sites (not Hulu, though). |

This and some patience of a couple of hours. You can even set up your torrent to automatically download it for you.
Check out http://www.ezrss.it/faq/#3
Unless you are trying to watch the show on a pad device. Then things get a bit more complicated. |

Strange... I've always been able to watch the Daily Show and the Colbert Report here on my computer (at home, at work, and on the laptop when out and about) without any problem. In fact, the commercials almost never come on at the breaks, too, added bonus I guess! |

A couple of hours to D/L a Colbert report? On a Korean connection you should be looking at 10 mins max. You may wanna check your utorrent/bittorrent settings if it's taking you hours. |

I wanna point out that Comedy Central wasn't even airing reruns of either show this entire week (July 9-13) in anticipation of a partial blackout. Usually when Colbert and Stewart are on vacation they air reruns, this week we didn't even get that during the 11pm EST timeslot. |

I meant patience of waiting. Waiting for those kind pirates to rip the show from air, convert, and then post. Add in the 10 to 30 minutes to download and voila.
Some people just are not that patient and want it now now now. Or they want it easier and streamed for them. Or they want it so easy. I mean utorrent is easy but some people find it difficult! |

Hide My Ass makes a VPN that works well, although it's about $10/month. I've never had any problems streaming from Hulu, Netflix, or Amazon while using it (or using it for Skype calls-- I'm currently in Lebanon, which has "banned" skype-to-phone calls), plus it doesn't have the obnoxious pop up ads or browser advertisement bar like Hotspot Shield. |

eztv.it works pretty well, as does Pirate Bay. Anyone know if it's somehow possible to see the extended interviews? None of the torrents seem to have them. |

I checked some private sites and it seems to be just the show. I do not watch Daily Show or Colbert. I am right in assuming the extended interviews are web based. Then if Comedy Central region blocks, your best bet is to get a VPN based in the US. |

This isn't entirely accurate. Viacom (Comedy Central's owner) is currently in a dispute with Direct TV wherein the latter argued they shouldn't have to pay more for Viacom channels, as much of Viacom's most popular content is available for free online. It's not that they can't profit enough from it, it's that it was being used to indirectly cut into their profits in another sector. Moreover, there is a way for you to watch it legally, if you pay: purchase it from iTunes. Finally, this isn't an issue of content not being available globally, as they took it down everywhere, not just outside of the States. |
