Italian volcanic soil versus Appalachian glacier deposit!

Italy wins! |
I bow down to you, dear sir. Still, do check out the farmers' markets in NY. They are pretty great. The Union Square one is the biggest, but there are many others that work on a rotational schedule. I used to go all the way uptown for fresh, wild strawberries. Yum! |

As you are so gracious in defeat, I shall admit I have never actually eaten a pie in New York. I'm from the Appalachians though a little further north.
I have eaten pizza all over Italy. In my experience Rome's is the worst (I may have just had bad luck with pizza places.) So far the best is in Naples; I haven't quite made it to the southernmost extremities of the country or Sicily yet. |

You have some of the best water in the states, dear sir! My friend's family owns 126 acres in the mountains, and have their own glacial water spring from the side of a cliff. We used to visit every summer and return home with huge water jugs full of the stuff.
You should really head to Brooklyn or Staten Island for some awesome pizza, though. You may very well prefer the original Italian, but the NYC style is pretty amazing, and I'm sure that, if not first, it would be your second choice. I prefer it, myself, but everyone's entitled to their own opinion, unless it's for Chicago pizza. Blergh!
EDIT: The bold is a corrected typo.

Oh man, you just reminded me of a whole bunch of New Yorker in the Berkshires hilarity. |

I didn't realize that enjoying pure water was funny.
I'm sure that I don't need to remind you of the nickname that we've given our dear countrymen in Massachusetts, and I don't want to violate the TOS, after all. |

Yeah, I was joking. It's good, though I usually don't want to eat that much bread in one sitting!
Either way, sorry I derailed the thread. I haven't been to NYC in over 2 years, and I'm leaving on a visit this weekend, so I'm kind of psyched about having pizza and bagels within walking distance of my parents' house. |

The novelty is kind of endearing when you've grown up with well water. My family is from the city, in any case, so I mean it good-naturedly. |

| I want to take this moment to thank my ancestors for perfecting kimchi. Sure we call it sauerkraut and it tastes a bit different, but nonetheless it was great that they were able to perfect something that came from some far away land (China). |

Gun / Rifle / Shooting Range.
I'd even sell guns. Of course Korean law probably prohibits anyone actually taking their fire arm off the range, so they'd have to leave it locked up with me.
One day, just like most businesses here on the peninsula, I would go bankrupt and the business would sink. I'd be sure to do an overnight move out and escape with everyone's guns!
That would be a rocking' article! |
There's a shooting range in Daegu~ It was HUGE and super expensive to shoot there... They also had lessons, shooting teams, clay plate shooting, target shooting, and handguns~ @.@ Also, I think your avatar is way too appropriate for that post ^.^

No worries. I'm not fan of well water, as it isn't always that clean, but I do love me some natural spring water. He had a brook that it fed that was VERY cold, even in August. It was glorious. My grandparents also used to live in the Pocono Mountains. They had some nice water as well, though nowhere near as good as the stuff in the Catskills. |

| I'd open a recording studio in Korea. No so much because I think it'd do well as I'd just like to run one. |
I'd do something with cars because I'm interested in them. Plus you can make a good deal of money at it once you build up a clientele.
I once sat through a five hour class on how to wash your car at Meguiar's HQ. I never realized there was so much involved in washing a car. At the end of the class, someone asked our instructor how much he charges to wash a car. The said he charges $700 for paint only; no windows or interior. I never thought I would ever pay that much for a detail, but after sitting through his class, I realized I would hire him. I was that impressed with his knowledge.
The last time I got one of my cars fully wrapped, it cost $4,000. I was quoted $5,500 this week for my latest car which is significantly bigger. Based on these prices if I were to guess, the guys who are the best at wrapping cars are charging about $100 per hour. Even the guys with no rep seem to be charging $50 per hour. The class to learn how to wrap is $100. That's quite a return on investment, though you'd have to practice a lot at first I'd imagine. The real money-maker is hooking up with a dealer who will give you a steady stream of work. |

If I had the money for the start-up costs, I would open a gym. The monthly costs for gyms here are insane, and the equipment isn't top notch. I bet if you open a gym with new equipment, it would do pretty well. Well, if you get a good location, that is.
I disagree with some of the posters about a study room. I think there is potential to make a pretty good profit with not much overhead. Also, you don't need much money either to get it going. You can use your apartment or house. Officetel supposedly is illegal. The hardest part is getting students, but with persistence and constant advertising, it can happen. |
+1. Plus a gym that doesn't spaz out and not use air con. WTF??? I mean seriously, it's hot. Turn on the damn air con! Get some better equipment than things that look like they were bought on the cheap at wal mart!! |
