You could try one of the low cost carriers. I fly to Thailand once or twice a year and usually use the below sites. My last flight there was 350k round trip all in.
www.jejuair.net
www.jinair.com
However it's peak season (in terms of Koreans travelling)so don't know how "cheap" they will be in August.
Also....through the airlines website
http://www.thaiairways.com/
Or www.onlinetour.co.kr if you can read Korean

Typically about 5 hours from ICN to Thailand.
There are flights to BKK and Phuket that are non-stop.
You can get cheap flights via HCMC for as low as 300k but with the transit and change of planes the travel time (airport arrival to airport departure at the destination) goes up to about 12 hours.

If you don't know.... and I think someone already mentioned it .... airfares out of Korea during school vacation periods are increased quite a lot. Even with budget airlines like JinAir, they are only markedly less than say Korean Air.
For example I flew Korean Air to Bangkok in August and the ticket was 750,000won total, direct flight. My friend got a quote for JinAir thinking that it would be the cheapest and that cost was 700,000won. And it was the cheapest. But JinAir is very budget. I flew with them once. No TV and I mean no universal screen to look at. Very cramped seating. Meal was terrible and was served halfway through the flight. Paying the extra 50,000won to fly Korean Air is worth it.
Understand that budget airlines are ideal for short trips say up to 2 hours. But believe me, I personally prefer to pay that little extra for the comfort of a 5 hour flight.
You could try www.sohotravel.co.kr you can do either through email or call. He speaks good English. Have used him for many years and have had no problems. And his prices are comparable with others. |

it's funny they call themselves budget airlines but their prices are only 50 bucks cheaper than firstclass airlines. |

The Korean budget carrier T'way (formerly Hansung Airlines) also flies to Bangkok. You can find a ticket priced at 150,000 won each way on certain dates, though I doubt you will find it between early and late August.
You can also try jejuair.net's specials. You can hit Bangkok for 319,000 won RT on certain dates, but from late August. |

I'd recommend to contact WOWCOREATOUR - travel co. with more than 10 yrs of successful work with expats and foreign travellers. https://www.facebook.com/wowcorea.tour email: [email protected]
they sent my friends to Jeju island recently and, as far as I know, their employeers speak English.

air asia!! they can have some amazingly cheap flights. you sort of have to catch them at the right time, but when it works, its amazing. Recently booked Incheon-Kuala Lumpur for 250 and KL to Vientiane for 60.
