Do I also scan my card at the end of the bus journey?

I'm surprised there are so many misinformation in this thread. A quick google search would give you full info about the fare system. You pay basic fare when you enter a bus (the exact fare varies by bus type), which entitles you to a 10km ride with transfers (if you swipe the card both in and out, maximum 5 buses). For each 5 km after that, it is 100 won which you pay at one of the out-swipes. Not swiping means you pay as if you are going to the end of the route.

That would be a nice entry for an FAQ, can you post a link? I know some other sites where they'd appreciate this clarity.

(BTW your opening statement should be posted on top of every third page of any topic on any forum Wink )

Rule #1 of living in Korea

Do as the Koreans do.

Hits SEND, spits into the urinal, then proceeds to piss left, right and front of it.

I do like the freedom of farting in buses, subway cars and elevators but there are things I just can't bring myself to.

I never swipe my card when getting off, unless I plan to transfer. It does not charge you the entire route. I've tested this numerous times.

It's probably a good habit to swipe it though, since you might need to transfer to a bus or subway unexpectedly.
