They were right to leave him out of the medal ceremony. No need to display political slogans during the Olympics. |

Now his publicity has been upped by a marked degree. |

Is he just barred from the medal ceremony rather than being prevented from actually receiving a medal?
Would suck for him if it's the latter. |

he should just be sent packin' period. what a tool!!!!
the Olympics are supposed to be a peaceful consortium of nations coming together for competitions; not to argue and bicker.
I still can't believe someone would be such an a ss ... and that it's a Korean still crying over Takeshima makes one wonder what life is really worth in SK to throw it all away so carelessly |

If he really wanted to get the message out, maybe he should have written his message in English. Just another example of stupidity...something that I see too much here with their national pride. |

It might make one wonder that...then again it might make one wonder how people using a statistical example of ONE PERSON at ONE time can make sweeping sociological judgments on the value of life in another country. |

Saw the match. Savage. Couldn't believe the Japanese player with the bloody rag tied around his head. The total disregard for sportsmanship. The breathless rush to bring this personal beef to the world stage. Don't understand why the Korean player -- whoever he was -- was in the ref's face like that. Yes, they won, but the way they won does not make me a fan of this team. |

Hypocritical because the IOC wallows in politics like a fat pig.
For example: South africa was banned from the olympics from 1964-1992 because of apartheid. |

I'm alright with the guy getting thrown out and calling it bad sportsmanship.
But I wonder if everyone here would have the same reaction if someone held up a "Free Tibet" banner. |

well first of all it wasn't just "someone" it was one of the officially entered players who agree to play by the rules.
and as another poster already pointed out, it would have meant more in the long run to have the sign in English.

suppose the same that one might wonder how certain posters can always manage to distort other's comments and twist the words into their own discrete little message making false assumptions that were never claimed.
but then, that's what happens when there's nothing of substance to debate and one just wants to stir the pot, hmmm? |
