| Is it possible to leave Korea for a vacation before obtaining your ARC? I don't want to be denied re-entry or screw up my visa! I have been teaching on an E2 Visa since July 18th and want to leave for Korean Thanksgiving at the beginning of October. I have had my health check done but I'm not sure if my ARC will be ready in time. I am Canadian. Thanks! |

Yes, you can.
No, you cannot.
If your ARC has been applied for (you are a registered alien) then you can get a certificate of Alien Registration (paper form) from the immigration office that will suffice in lieu of your ARC for travel.
If you have NOT applied for your ARC (are not yet registered) then you cannot leave without canceling your visa.
