Got connections, start pounding the pavement.

Flew in on spec then better case a wider net.

Legally you can't be here without an on-going ticket. Plus there are heaps of random jobs here and there for people that need them, plus an endless supply of 7-730am business classes that pay around 50000 per hour...

The OP has a history of posting horror stories. One example:

"I worked for a private school, got fired, went to work for another school for three weeks, they then fired me. I found out that the previous employer had cancelled my Visa. I am now working at the new school and they are wondering about my visa status."

Legally you can be in Korea as long as you have a valid stamp in your passport.

Short history, too. 8 posts, all similar stories. Either the OP is incredibly unlucky, teaching is not his or her thing (or maybe Korea's not the right place of him or her), or it's a put on.

I vote for "it's a put on".

No one is that unlucky or that dumb.

how can you not find a job?
On all the local (area) pages I use for info., there are usually at least about 4 jobs a week being posted.
Do as Tompatz said and cast your net about a bit instead of coming on here and...
I really cant believe youre trying hard enough.

Perhaps you could expand on this a little for us?

For every job being posted you have about 20 or more people applying for it. The OP is going to have to apply for a ton of those jobs before landing one and they are usually short time non permanent jobs. Another thing if you are putting on the years it's going to be a lot tougher. The OP is going to have to find out where the Hogwans are and hit the streets.

No. Theyre not. Theyre mostly full time positions for people here who are looking to transfer (at least the ones in Daegu/Busan are anyway...). And if the OP starts applying for them, he/she may be one of the 20 or so people who gets the contract.
Last time I changed jobs, it took me 1 day to find a new position because I went nuts applying for everything (and wasnt being a job-snob).
Dont make excuses for the OP. Mollycoddling people in this situation will only encourage them. He/she needs to get their finger out if their money is dwindling. He/she didnt even ask for any advice anyway - just came on for a bit of a moan. That sounds to me a bit like self pity- nothing pragmatic there.

Not that unlucky, I agree..

But I've met a few who really are that dumb.

Shocked

Thank you for you advice, I will keep trying. And teaching probably isn't my thing. I think Korea is a little sexist actually. This time round is definately not so good.

Perhaps finding a teaching job isn't the only way out of your predicament: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmIoLR4s_Mo&feature=g-feat

Nowadays if you need a job quickly (ie in under 3 months), you'll have to be repared to accept just about anything.

We're talking split shift kindy hagwon in a village in the provinces for 1.9M.

We all know its largely a farce in Korea. But yeah, you have to get good at playing the game to be competitive.

I'm guessing you're a male over 35?

I've been trying to warn away people from coming here for the past 2 years, despite the exagerators on here claiming there are jillions of jobs available.
Korea has tanked! Its basically over. Unless you are prepared to accept poor conditions.
